Bah, its just oblivion with Sixshooters...

fallout with cowboys and indians.

the wildlife aspect they talked about sounds pretty cool too.  if you are alone in the wild west, you should have a bit of fear about attacked by animals.

i hope they give you some method of starting a campfire out there.  mostly useless, but it would amp up the atmosphere and also give you an option should you wind up a long ways off from town.

this just moved up from my b list.

That is also a very well made trailer, the narration style should be used in other trailers, imho.

This looks terrific!  The Wild West always seems a bit underused in gaming, particularly given how many popular, iconic Western movies are out there.  Definitely looking forward to this.

Quote
As revealed to Joystiq by undisclosed sources, the fate of Red Dead Redemption is sounding, at best, highly questionable. One source said the game "was a complete disaster for most of 2009 and previous ... it has since turned around a little bit, but there are huge problems with it still."

Another spoke of even more issues: "Red Dead has been in production for six years (mainly because of horrible management/lack of direction due to fear of disrespecting Rockstar NY) and it will never get the money back in sales it cost to create for those six years."

Finally, a third source -- specifically noted as being someone from Rockstar -- gave yet another grave testimony. "It will take 5 million sales at full price to recoup the development costs of Red Dead. The good news is they are not expecting to make money with Red Dead Redemption.

hopefully this could just be some fallout from whats been happening with Rockstar recently

Rock Star has it scheduled for a 4/27/2010 release. I don't think there's much concern about it not happening.

Lol ^^ exactly. Doubly so with them saying "we know we aren't going to make money off this". I just hope they make it good as a huge image boost to them. If it's shitty and it still took them six years and they're basically releasing it "as is"... that'd suck.

Rockstar for me are one of the best game developers,i have loved most of their games

but this is the first game there have been Rockstar employersundisclosed sources slagging off their own product.
Again i am hoping its all just fallout with the recent complaints about Rockstar as a company to work for,and from what i have seen i have liked even if it has been carefully selected scenes

Too early to tell of course but the Eurogamer preview and the latest video on Marketplace makes me believe it could very well be a contender for this title (even with the tough competition). Obviously I take the previous track record of this studio into account as well (these are the same guys that did San Andreas?) smile.

To me it looks like it has everything fans of open ended games drool over, it helps if you love Western thems like me smile.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/red-dead-redemption-hands-on

Also check out the newly added videon XBOX Marketplace, it made me drool over this. I played GUN for about 30 minutes before shelving it permanently(nobody pays more than 1$ for it anyway).

I am looking forward to this one and yes it has a very "man with no name" vibe to it.  I dont know if a western based game can pull off the game of the year but from what Ive seen I think this will be one of my favorites to come out this year.

Ok, failed to see that thread but why a no? The Eurogamer preview is the only hands on so far and it is a huge recommendation as far as I can tell, and they aren't exactly known to give out big scored to mediocre titles. If anything they are too harsh (DA got 6/10).

there have been problems with development apparently,Rockstar Employee's themselves saying its in a right old state

but, those 'rumours' still haven't put me off,the new video i saw today on the marketplace looks great

however Marcus,i would highly recommend another go at GUN,i friggin' loved that game,i loved riding my horse across the plains

Yes we should all trust former disgruntled employees(well undisclosed sources in this case) slywink.
People who badmouth employees have more worries than a potentially failed game.

Actually Rockstar was always a pretty rough employer from what I have read, firing assistans for bringing the wrong coffee and whatnot but the games are always great. Never planned to send my CV to them anyway slywink.

No other developer makes open ended games as good as these guys and if it is anything like San Andreas then I can hardly see how it fails, the Eurogamer preview seems to highlight this.

This could very well be THE Western game (not hard to accomplish I'll admit).

Yet more released on Marketplace today, a lengthy gameplay trailer.

You can participate in full scale Mexican revolutions among many ohter activities.
The depht of this game seems incredible, unless there are some terrible hidden bugs then this will not
only be the game of the year for me but most likely THE 360 game.

Maybe they did some last minute polishing after all smile

This could even be the first time I dare buy a  game on releaseday for 360.

My fault, this wasn't the latest, must have missed it when it came out but certainly the most awesome trailer so far.
