we are going to be holding a gaming night at school in a week or so, and i've volunteered to bring in my gamecube.  most of the games i own are either single or two player games, and so i'll be renting party games.

the choices i'm thinking so far are mario kart, mario tennis, and warioware, since the controls and game mechanics are simple to pick up.

any other games anyone can suggest that might be fun?

the target audience is going to be beginner to advanced gamers, who don't have any experience with a gamecube.

thanks a lot!!

I understand Super Smash Bros. Melee to be the ultimate multiplayer game on the Cube.

Any of the Mario Party games are a blast; there's super monkey ball, the Godzilla Melee and even bongo games.

I only play GC for Zelda, so I'm not too much help there.

Super Smash Bros. Melee is the best party game ever.  Bring that along and I guarantee that it will be played the most.  Very, very fun.

Mario Kart is also a fun 4 player game.

The best party game on the Gamecube (and one of it's best kept secrets) - Beach Spikers.  Seriously.  Four player Beach Spikers is beyond awesome.

Other good ones:
- Super Monkey Ball 2: a lot more/better party games than the first one; the only downside is that you have to play single player a ton to unlock most of them (which is a shame, as some of the party games are almost worth being a game on their own).

- Burnout 2: not as good as Burnout 3 on the Xbox/PS2, but the multiplayer Crash mode is as good as ever and doesn't have those stupid 2x/4x icons to ruin it...

- Nascar 200x: for some strange reason the Nascar games have always made for great 4 player games.  I'm not quite sure why...

- Super Smash Bros Melee - for all the reasons listed above.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Super Monkey Ball 2 ($15 or so at Wal-Mart)

Any two of these titles can easily last a day of gameplay in a party.

Also try Sega Soccer Slam, but the above titles should be the best bets.

I would need ot know amount of people, but a quick gamne of mario party isnt half bad.

Super Mario Dash

Super MOnkey Ball 2

FZero GX

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee

Super Mario Tennis is fine for short periods of time...

SSB:M all the way. There is no better party game on the Gamecube, and some would say it's the best fighter on the system too.

thanks for all the suggestion....

oh yeah....SSBM....tried it once before, really didn't know what was going on, but fun in multiplayer.

beach spikers....too bad i can't find a copy that isn't overly priced....definitely needs 4 players...

i'll see what games they have at the video store and decide.

Mario Party games are nice, but they take forever to play, even at only 10 turns.  They're great if you only have 4 people who want to play the Gamecube that night, but otherwise you're better off with things like SSB:M since you can switch off faster and everyone gets a turn without waiting too long.

I have bought most of the party cube games to play with the family.  There are the favorites we still love to play.

Mario Party 5 or 6
Mario Kart
Super Smash Brothers
SSX 3
Super Monkey Ball 2
WarioWare

My "party" faves:
Mario Kart DD
Wario Ware
Mario Golf
Mario Party 4/5/6/7/...
SSB:M

If you like shooters, Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect are quite good.

Something that suprised me with it's awesome 4-player beatdown was Def Jam: Fight for NY.  I'm totally ignorant of hip-hop, but this game is just a blast with 2 to 4 players.  (I didn't really like what I played of Vendetta BTW).
