I had an Xbox at one time, but sold it after developing quite an addiction to online PGR2.  So I'm sure there are some good games that were released after that that I missed.

Right now, I have pretty much all of the games for the 360 that I have an interest in owning.  But I'm still looking for something new to play.

So, anything that I missed (for Xbox) that'll run well on the 360?

My 360 collection right now consists of Oblivion, NFS:MW, PGR3, GRAW, DOA4, NBA2K6 and a bunch of Arcade games.  So something different would be good.

Recommendations?

How about, Ninja Gaiden.

Oh, and Ninja Gaiden.

Don't forget Ninja Gaiden!  biggrin  biggrin

Snag the 'Ninja Giaden Black' version, as it has some nice gameplay tweaks, and IIRC, is only $20 ATM.

Also can't go wrong with Halo/Halo 2, both of which are backwards compatible and still rank among the top console FPS games.

Unfortunately, alot of great Xbox games aren't backwards compatible, so the options are limited.

Edit: Also try the demo for Fight Night 3, its incredible (X360 version). I'm having a blast on Live ATM (finished single player).

Winning Eleven 9 runs like butter on the 360.  Every once in awhile you'll hear a sort of squeeeeeeel after getting out of the pause menu, but it'll go away after a minute.  And the game plays a fantastic game soccer.

Ninja Gaiden is truly a masterpiece, but hard as hell.  Should last you years in trying to beat it.  I have had it since day one off and on and can't get past the 1/3 point.  But I will keep trying til Xbox 720 comes out.

I bought Halo 2 used today because I never played it and the Halo 3 trailer got me thinking I should catch up on the story.  I played Halo 1 to completion co-op with a friend.  So far, it has been a fun game, especially with the dual-wielding weapons.

Fable The Lost Chapters plays pretty well.  I fired it back up yesterday.  Great game, too.

I know you asked about Xbox 1 games.  But I would recommend at least renting The Outfit for the 360.  I really enjoyed it and it plays alot different than any other console game I've tried.

Concerning the original question, I recommend GTA San Andreas.  The graphics look great on the 360 and it is an amazing game in terms of gameplay.

i'll put in another vote for Ninja Gaiden:Black...fantastic game that i'm working my way through on the 360 right now.  it's probably one of the hardest games i've ever played, but i'm enjoying every minute of it.  while there were some performance issues initially, the game runs flawlessly with the latest BC patch...beautiful game overall and a hell of a lot of fun.

i've also picked up Halo, Halo2, and Jade Empire...all good games that run well on the 360 Cool

NGB was the best game I played on the original XBox.   It looks amazing and controls great.  It is definitely not a button masher, but once you learn the moves, it's not as frustrating as you may think.

There's also all the Splinter Cells that are BC.

I cannot believe this, but I totally forgot  til now I could play an XBOX game on the 360!  I remember reading about it way back when, and it just slipped my mind all together until this thread.  I never owned the xbox, so it looks like I'll have to get NGB asap.  Awesome timing as I have all the games for the 360 that interested me.  I wish they'd hurry and pump more games out (but not at the expense of quality!)

Thanks for all of the suggestions.

A bunch of those games I had already played when I had my original XBox, but never tried Halo 2, Winning Eleven (any version), GTA:SA, or Fable.

I knew I could count on you folks smile

Fable has some framerate issues in isolated spots, some sound pops, and remains the only game to ever lock up my 360, but those issues were all minor.

I have played Baldur's Gate II: Dark Alliance -- some choppiness/frame stutter, but other than that a great hack & slash

Played Fable to completion and that ran well

Next:

Halo 2
Jade Empire
Crimson Skies

for what it's worth, Circuit City has the original Halo on sale for $14.99 this week...it usually sells new for about $20.  not a bad deal considering i don't think a lot of places sell it any cheaper than that used.

A game I had fun with that is on the BC list is Metal Arms.  A quirky little 3rd person shooter/action game.  It is pretty fun and can probably be found cheap used.

i've heard a lot of good things about Metals Arms and have kept an eye out to get it cheap sometime, but i never see it much of anywhere.  i did pick up Sphinx & the Cursed Mummy for $4 a couple months ago (clearance bin at circuit city) and would say it's a fun adventure/platformer game...neat story and fun gameplay.  i only played about halfway through that one though after getting distracted by GRAW and Burnout.  i'll get back to it one day though...

You know, I really enjoyed my 4-5 hours with this but got rid of it, gotta grab that again during the annual summer lull.

It plays well on the 360?

it ran flawlessly in the time i put in and looks pretty good for an old xbox game (that was also on PS2 and gamecube).  i picked it up mostly because it was so cheap and i'd heard a lot of comparisons to the recent Zelda games when it first came out...i can see the similarities at times.

Black runs suprisingly well on the 360 and is a lot of fun to play, too.

If you like hack-em-ups and Risk, go with Dynasty Warriors 5 : Empires.

Too bad there's no live multiplayer. frown
