Just couldn't stay away from the $15 pricepoint and how freakin' weird this game looked...
It's quite crazy, pretty addictive to play. I'm just wondering if any other CG'ers grabbed this one off of Steam.

Nope, not yet. Looks kinda interesting. And by how just utterly almost unplayable DoD:S is becoming, I may just have to look into playing this.

It's all mouse-driven. You're little kung-fu dudes and you use the mouse to move your character and also attack. It's full of just, trippy, messed up crap. Reach down and eat some mushrooms and you can essentially FLOAT (completely with rainbow) for awhile. The game's single-player is a crazy mix of random tasks and actual FILM starring the game's creator as a ninja and a couple of his friends. Seriously. The special effects are crude as hell, but it's meant to be, it's goofy as hell. The learning curve is kicking my ass. Playing it online, boy, I was getting my ass kicked. There are some BADASS skins out there since you can make your own. There are no preset animations in this game, at all. RAG DOLL Kung Fu. You control everything. You wanna walk? Pick up your leg and move it you lazy bastard! You can also hold onto their arm and PULL them along. The game can be purchased and downloading straight from Steam for around $15. I had zero problems getting the game and playing it. So buzz off Steam haters.

I'm not fond of steam (mostly due to it's always on connection). Is this game worth having to run steam? I was so hyped when I saw the demo movie he released about a year ago.
Also, any word of non-steam distribution?

Also, any word of non-steam distribution? Since it's being distributed via Steam and when you start it up, it starts up Steam as well (like all Steam stuff unless you're offline), I doubt there'll be any non-steam distribution. I think it's a genius move by an indie developer - lots of exposure. And I don't really have a problem running steam, to tell you the truth. So yeah, I'd say it's worth having to run steam. Then again, I love steam. Yeah, I gotta do tutorials again as well...they kick my ass! Eating those mushrooms sure is trippy

I just close Steam when I'm not playing one of the games... Yeah, it's only always on if you leave it always on. It's pretty easy to shut it down, unless I'm missing something, and it runs evily in the background when it's not supposed to.

Because I enjoy this game and I'm a Digital Devil Saga fanboy, I made a Serph skin. Sure it looks pretty wonky, but hey, it works for me!

Most impressions I've read range from negative to HIGHLY negative. I'd recommend reading around before you take the plunge.

Impressions of what? Steam or Rag Doll Kung Fu?
I like the former and am enjoying the latter, though it's very difficult (but you do start to get the hang of it after awhile). The goofy movies are stupidly fun and fit the game well.
I'll grant you, I haven't hunted out impressions yet, but everything I've seen has been at least slightly positive.

Finally found a server online that wasn't laggy and man was it fun. People have different styles, which is cool to see. One guy was blocking attacks and counter-attacking and another was really good with flying attacks. Me? I tried a variance of everything Enjoyed the heck out of it.

Hey, kathode, where are these HIGHLY negative impressions you've been seeing? I've looked around now, and every seems to like it, from what I've seen.
I'm not baiting you, I just wonder where you saw them.

I really like the humor in the cutscenes for the single player campaign as well as the different objectives. It really is just a pretty creative little game. That being said, I wouldn't pay MORE then the $15 I spent. But it's a game like none other. And it's pretty fun!
I'm having trouble finding a good server online though. Seems like every server has a bit of lag. Maybe they'll clean that up?

The 420 server has been really nice for me...retarded name, but stable server.
I've seen about 1 negative response for every 8 positive or so.

Okay, so just for the hell of it, I bought and downloaded this yesterday. I'm a big time Day of Defeat fan, and with some of the great custom maps people have been releasing over the last few weeks, it's getting even better.
Anyway, the learning curve was initially daunting, but once I got the mouse sensitivity where I wanted it, I had a blast. I'll echo another comment saying that I paid $15 for it, but that's about all I'd pay. I didn't get the chance to get into the multiplayer, but unless that really increases the replay value, I'll chalk this one up to whimsical. It's funny more than anything, and the cutscenes are delightfully bad.
