Not exactly the "First ever" shots...there was a cover story about it in PC Gamer or something a few months ago and those shots circulated around.

Looks good, I'm excited for the first batch of games using that engine.  This will be a first day buy for me.

OK.  Based on the Doom 3 engine and the screen shots released...are in limited light...and in tunnels.

I have said for the last two years that Q4 was my number one expected game because of: Raven software, id engine.  Why did they not purposely release pics with a skybox at least?

These pics did more harm than good to my expectations, especially considering the second one does look photoshopped (Notice the red light's borders).

Here's to hoping for a Hexen 3.

i hope this doesn't end up like a glorified doom 3 TC.  all indoors and monsters set to jump at you from behind.

Quake 1 was the best out the 3.  If they bring back that physic system then I'm sold.  Otherwise, meh

This is excellent news as Quake 2 is my favorite of the series by far.  I had no idea Quake 4 was picking up where it left off.  I though it was going to be another Quake 3 multiplayer game (not my cup of tea).  I played through it and the expansions many, many times.  Maybe I'll see if I can get it to load up on my rig tonight.

I still regularly play Quake 1 with the zeus bot in cooperative and if I get bored enough, deathmatch/team deathmatch. Still a lot of fun after all these years. With the addition of toqasquake (or whatever it's called) the graphics are almost passable.

Quake 4 looks good and it sounds like something Doom 3 could have been, a singleplayer game where you AREN'T ALONE! I get so tired of all these RTS games that pit you against the world. Even though they're beatable, they're just not realistic at all. Quake 4 looks like you'll have squadmates throughout the entire game, something I wish Doom 3 had. (Even just 1 or 2 fellow marines with you would have been good.)

Lets just hope that while including a good singleplayer campaign, they don't forget about multiplayer either (like they did in Doom 3) and still have at least a couple of game types shipping with it. Bots would be a plus also. And as already mentioned.. coop! I think that's only wishful thinking though.
