27 second reload?? How dare they claim to have more powerful hardware than computers. I can tell you one thing, if it took me 27 seconds to quickload a game everytime I died I sure wouldn't be playing it for long.

Don't buy a PSP  I haven't played Quake 4 on the PC, but I wonder how the load times compare.

Reload times on the PC are near instantaneous.

Thanks for the info, Kevin.
I also hate the long reload times. And I die. A lot.

Reload times on the PC are near instantaneous. Bingo - that is the difference. If you DIE in Quake 4 on the PC you are almost immediately back in the action. If you DIE in Quake 4 on the 360, you get a 27 second break. The loading of levels is roughly the same for PC and 360.

for some reason Bethesda are re-releasing this in June for $19.99,all i can think is maybe at E3 they will announce Quake 5 and this is to get the series back into everyone's minds no new updates that i can see, just the low price(that you can probably get cheaper),not sure if Quake 2 is included again like it was in the original launch http://www.bethblog.com/2012/04/11/quake-4-returns-to-xbox-360/Can't say i enjoyed this game, could not get into it for the life of me,nor Quake 2,and traded it in after a few weeks

Yeah. Quake 4 was a disappointment. I can't believe that was 8 years ago...

I can't believe that was 8 years ago... That's because it wasn't - its was released 6-1/2 years ago at the same time as the 360, which turns 7 in November. I actually liked a number of things about Q4, but what I didn't like was the way the difficulty ramped up. I started playing it on the mid setting, but it was too easy so I restarted on the more difficult. The combat and foes then got tough, while heal ups and ammo got scarcer. To make matters worse if you used any of the cheats to boost your ammo or health it erased your achievements. If they released it again minust that latter feature, I'd consider rebuying it.

I really liked Quake 4. I liked that there was an attempt at a story. Not sure I could play it today, though.

I'm going to channel Ron here : The DB import from the older site has been - challenging. It's currently being fixed by the DB team.

it's out on Steam, and the screenshots make it look like an ordinary FPS, so I don't think it'd be too dated.

I still have my 360 savegame where I had just become part of the Flood Geth Hellspawn?. I'd like to finish up the game.

They should add the XBLA version of Quake 3 to the disc as an added bonus. Might add some new players online. Last time I loaded up Q3 there was one server up, and since they're all player-hosted if the host leaves, game ends.
