(stolen from the Shack)

The character creation system in Oblivion uses Face Gen. The reason you care about this is that you can get on their website and get a demo version of the product. With it and a couple of photos, it will create a beautiful model of your face.

http://www.facegen.com/

Instructions:

1: get a photo of you, a good headshot
2: start facegen
3: import your picture and write down where all the sliders are
4: close facegen, start oblivion and create a character using those slider settings.

Boom, YOU are in the game. happy

Or you could put in pictures of Chuck Norris and look like Chuck Norris.

YEAH SON.

Good News and Possible C-Old news:
Found the mod* to add numbers instead of the sliders by itself

Not sure if the author only hosted on the Tessource.net where you have to register before you can download.

*- Turns out it was just an XML file, still well done though.

FORMULA

you take the number given to you in facegen times it by fiver and add 50. Or in equation form X * 5 + 50 = Y. X being the facegen value and Y being the desired Oblivion value.

Also check out the guy I made!

I downloaded the Facegen before Oblivion came out but it never occurred to me to mirror those settings to make a character.  Hmm, I think my next character will have a striking resemblence to Kate Beckensale....

Sissy. MINE will be of Vin Diesel though I run the risk of being struck down for blasphemy.

Also, I'll need to pick up Oblivion first.

Vin Diesel once closed an Oblivion Gate by pointing his finger at it and yelling, "BANG!"

actually, he didn't yell it.
He just "said" bang, and the gate was intimidated enough to close.

I believe that Chuck Norris closed one by just pointing his finger. In fact it was so strong that it closed 4 gates via richochet.

At the start of Oblivion, Vin Diesel was able to pull out the heart of the prisoner across the hall using only the power of his Speechcraft.

I got the facegen demo last night and started to play around with it.

It was able to create a face that look very similar to my own with nothing more than a crappy camera phone picture.

I haven't had a chance to see how well transfering the slider bar values into Oblivion goes.

Thanks for the heads up, it looks like my next character will have a visage very similar to my own.

Vin Diesel once received a parking ticket on his horse while he was off fighting invading armies. The Emperor himself is swiftly killed off at the start of Oblivion. Coincidence?

I'm looking forward to playing around with this as it should certainly help immersion regardless of whether you see your own face or not. Has anyone looked in mirrors or reflective surfaces to see if they can notice a difference in their face?

ah, i just eyeballed it, and my chara looks a lot like me (minus the freckles and the crooked teeth).  then again, i've had a lot of experience with looking at my own face (for art projects and such), so i guess i have a pretty good idea of how my skull's built.

I remember seeing some scaling factors to apply to the slider settings from facegen somewhere that made the Oblivion characters look better - anybody remember the formula?

<====Screw Vin and Chuck, my crazy Shiggy wood elf is going to kick some serious ass (or at the least use his Pikmin gardening powers to help me find some damn Ninroot).
