My old PS2 finally bit the dust, so I ended up getting one of the new, redesigned ones.  I've heard lots of good things about them, but I've also heard some bad:  overheating, power supply problems, not working with some PS2 games, and having to format an older memory card to work with it.  Anyone out there own one of these?

I've had one for about 3 months and have had no troubles.

It has played every game- new, used, PS1 and PS2, with the regular or GH Guitar controller- flawlessly.

I've now got it jacked into my receiver the the limited use of DD sound is nice.

I haven't used it for online play so I cannot comment on that.

As for overheating, I don't notice that it get's all that hot.  I'll have to check...

I got mine about the week after they hit the stores and haven't had a problem at all.  I haven't exactly been driving it particularly hard or anything, though.

Going on a year now with lots of play and ZERO problems.  Highly recommended.

I wish I could attach a harddrive to mine, but that is the only "problem" I've had with my machine.

had one since they came out and have had no issues. My wife alone has put over 100 hours into Dragon Quest on it with no issues...

Mine decided to stop reading any games disks after a couple of months.  Sent it in to be repaired and haven't had any problems since.

Granted I haven't really played it much since then either.
