I just saw the Strip at night... wow. Walking out of The Tops, after everything that went on in there, I turned and found Boone staring at me. I actually said out loud, "Don't look at me, I don't know what the hell is going on either" . This game is getting so good.

Now at thirty-eight hours forty minutes into the game. Running lots of courier missions (hey, I'm a courier, right?) and finding new places to see, explore and get killed in. Fun, fun fun!

lets just say i am starting to get annoyed with this game...52 hrs in today i found these out the hard way can't complete Oh My Papa mission from Fallout Wiki Note: Apparently there is no way of completing the "Oh my papa" quest if you speak to Melissa first and do her "Don't Make a Beggar of Me" quest. However you finish the quest, the very act of completing the quest makes her disappear. It is odd because when you get the "Oh my papa" quest the marker is at the Great Kahn Encampment but she is not there. and can't even start the Bye Bye Love mission(says PS3,but i am on the 360) Due to a glitch, Carlitos isn't appearing in the game for many people, making the quest temporarily unfinishable. This glitch will happen on the PS3 if you complete the How Little We Know quest before taking Joana out of the casino. I hadn't even met Joana or Carlito, but because i finished that 'How Little we Know' quest,i wont ever get to meet them now,as they disappear

You probably should have put the details in spoiler tags... well i have just put in spoiler tags what i think are spoilers, even though ...it really isn't really that much of a spoiler, that whole quest with the spoiler takes all of 5 minutes(if that) to do,and its nothing big Joana and Carlito have nothing to do with the other quest that is bugged EDIT: now i have come across 'Tend to your Business' or 'Eyesight for he blind' bug(depending on the outcome you choose with 'Still in the Dark'...i had been going back every now and then trying to pick up the new quest from BoS but he kept saying come back later,i thought nothing of it,but apparently he says that forever, people have been waiting for weeks(in game of course) and still getting the same answer the next Fallout or Elder Scrolls game that comes out they better test that bitch for a year!! it's been a terrible day

I've become a real "quest-whore", never turning down a mission request. I have seen some odd quest structures, where I've had a quest or two sort of hang in the air. Some have resolved themselves, others still await some strange or unlikely event that will resolve things. I'm not so bothered if the occasional quest fails to be resolved, as long as it doesn't break the main campaign structure. To me it's part of the mystery of New Vegas.

the 'Oh My Papa' (and the new mission i have just found out is bugged)quest does alter the main quest, but doesn't break it(so i am told)....there are people having problems with a later main mission and are unable to finish the game though, but i have a long way to go until then

By the way, I think it's weird that for such a greatly anticipated game (midnight launch and everything), there's no FONV theme for the 360 nor no avatar items. I really want an ED-E to be floating around my avatar

Hate asking asking that question, but some games (like Dragon age) were better on the PC.
(And mods dont mean shit to me FYI)

Now at about hour forty in the game, and just passed game save #1000 (although I overwrite old saves, keeping about twelve at any time). That's a save roughly every two and a half minutes. Am I being obsessive? Only two lockups so far, and once I purged the memory cache there's no lag to speak of, even in The Strip. And speaking of major spoilers ( whah?), I just have to tell the tale of " Poor Cass". Read only if know about Cass's eventual (but not necessarily only or mandatory) fate, or you don't mind reading spoilers. Seriously. Fair warning. Spoiler for Hiden: I've got Boone with me and we go visit the Silver Rush. After a bit of questing I'm told that the guy would really like me to bring Cass to him. Well, that's not easy since Cass turned me down before. But one quest leads to another and eventually I end up with Cass as my companion, along with ED-E.
So I go back to the Silver Rush, suspecting that things aren't going to go well for Cass, but whatever. We go in and I go talk to the brother and he wants Cass in an unpleasant way. I can chose to let him have her, fight him for her, or Cass and I can walk out. I think about it for a second, then mentally turn to Cass and say "remember how I told you we would travel together for a long while? BAZINGA!"
I told the brother she's all yours, and while I'm rooted to the spot where I'm standing, he goes over and turns her into glowing ash. Oh well, she drank too much anyway.

I have about 40 hours or so into the game and I have only one save official save. I use quick save all the time and if I have ever had a crash or issue of some kind, either the quick save or auto save gets me back in the game with pretty much no effort lost. I really haven't had any issues, though (PC version). Just three crashes.

Well obviously the graphics are a lot better on the PC (system-dependent of course). That shouldn't even need to be asked. Gameplay is the same, just depends how you like to control it.

i would love to see how he got past some of the quests this way. of course, it helps you can have followers (and good ones at that). would i attempt this? no, i love the stalking and hunting mechanics in the game too much.

Hmm, I wonder about what you mentioned, if Companion kills count on your tally. I know you get the XP. I'll have to experiment. UPDATE: Yup, any kills your companion makes do not show up on your Pipboy tally. So having a good companion or two would make it easier to complete the game without killing anything. However, what fun would that be?

i am about to trade it in tomorrow, and then i will pick it up again at a later date, they said yesterday that the patch(for PC,PS3 and 360) is incoming in a few weeks ...and then i guess the 360 patch has to go to MS for testing just had nothing but trouble now, side missions that can't be finished are effecting the main missions and therefore effecting the outcome, and then the freezes are starting to happen more and more now,so i have finally snapped 70hrs in

Goddammit Microsoft, stop fucking up for gamers by paying for DLC exclusivity! It's just such a snotty thing to do. In essence they aren't really bringing anything to 360 owners, they're denying something to PS3 and PC owners. Fuck you, Microsoft! Fuck you!

I'd be more worked up if the DLC sounded even slightly compelling to me. New Vegas has a bunch of loose ends to play with that will hopefully be filled with future DLC that takes place inside the existing game, as was the case with 4/5 Fallout 3 DLCs. Since this isn't that kind of DLC, the story of a random character is a lot less interesting to me.
