Seems like an odd business decision to completely shut things down on a weekend when most of your client base would want to use your service.  Then again, when has a Sony decision made any sense?

Oh well, saves me $40...it was a game I was on the fence with anyways.

I don't know. It doesn't seem to be down THAT much. Only for a few hrs every couple of months for maintenance.

Look at it this way
In some cases it is not very long,just a few hours,even those lasting a day is a small price to pay i guess as long as what happened this time roughly last year doesn't happen again

however,not sure why XBL doesn't go down as often(just once or twice in the last year IIRC)
