PS3 YLOD

It's happened to me I had updated GT5 to 2.10 and downloaded the free 2014 Stingray DLC and did a few laps in that when I noticed it took forever to exit from the map screen. I had a bad feeling since it took so long, and I tried to exit the game at that point, which rebooted my PS3. When it came back, it was stuck with the wave before the XMB fully loads. I've tried to get it into recovery mode, but without results except for the yellow light. Nothing on the screen and the power button became totally unresponsive. It lit up green, but couldn't do anything to turn it off. It looks pretty dead.


It's not all bad though. I'm in the process of preording the limited edition 500gb white PS3.

Nooooooo! I'm getting afraid of turning mine on at this point. I need to get a new slim I guess.

Anyone picked up a Super Slim yet? Any deals happening right now?

I am starting to have a couple of problems with my Launch machine(well,2 month+ launch) that for some reason seem to link with my SONY Bravia TV,i am thinking it maybe the TV side of things though

When i turn the machine on,before switching HDMI channels,then all i get is a black screen(no sound,nothing)...the PS3 blue light is on,but nothing,i try switching the TV over and then back again,still nothing,i have to turn off my PS3,and then switch it back on again(not straight away which i hear is the main cause of YLOD)

when i do switch my PS3 back on,still being on 'HDMI 3' with the TV,it starts up normally

Like i say,it sounds more like a problem with the TV than the PS3,but it still scares me a little....although i hardly play games on my PS3,i do use it a lot for DVD/BR's,so i am hoping it lasts at least until the next BR Console(likely Microsoft's new machine)
