If the PS3 can make Spring '06, Microsoft is toast.  The only way they wouldn't be is if they enslave the Santa and Keebler elves to make 360s 'round the clock and partner with Budweiser to suddenly fix their production/distribution shortages.

Of course, I don't think the PS3 makes Spring '06.  We're sorely lacking information for a console release that's, theoretically, 6 months out.

Spring '06 for PS3? Where? Japan? Then in the US in the fall? It could happen.

There is no way in hell that the PS3 is out in Spring for the USA. There is SLIGHT chance it could be out in Japan then, but I seriously doubt it. THe Blu-Ray drives are going to cost a small fortune then, so they will either being taking a HUGE loss on each sold or it will have an astronomical price tag.

More like Summer/Fall 06 in Japan and Winter 06 in the USA, if that. I wouldn't be shocked if it came out Spring of 07 in the USA, if MS keeps having supply issues.

I actually read in a magazine recently (EGM?), that their sources have told them that the PS3 might make a US release in Spring '06. I guess it's possible if they try a "worldwide" launch similar to MS.

They have released a ton of screenshots showing all different areas of the game (and apparently only half of the total areas have been revealed) - all of the pictures show the same kind of low quality textures you would expect on a PS2 - no way they would be able to redo all of the game's textures and art assets before next spring, right?

I just read a reuters article quoting the head of EA sayign he thought the time frame would be Fall. That article says that Sony indicates the PS3 is still on schedule for Spring, but it doesn't say where.

I'd say we'll know in about a month when CES comes. If they don't show working PS3's with something playable then I'd say spring is out .
