PS3 Picture? I sure hope not!

All I can say is I hope not.  It is far, far uglier to me than the 360.  It just looks cheap and silly.  I think the controller is terrible as well.

Don't know yet.  Sony is using the slogan "Welcome Chang3" in their E3 marketing so that might be an indication it will be called PS3.

OK, I'll bite. What's wrong with it? Maybe it's really comfortable. The PS2 controller is the best one I've held. I'd bet they wouldn't put out anything half-baked on the market when the time comes.

People are bashing it because it looks silly, but that's not the only reason it's stupid.  It's the same layout as the dual shock controller!  Why is the d-pad taking up the left-thumb's must comfortable position instead of an analog stick?  The shoulder buttons look like the same old stupid pressure sensitive type, IMO the Dreamcast/Gamecube/Xbox analog shoulder triggers are hands down a better design.

Have we confirmed that it doesn't have triggers?  You can't tell from that shot.

No, not confirmed, hopefully there are some analog triggers on the underside.  Actually, that would make sense, the shoulder buttons you can see in that pic would be R1/L1, the analog triggers would be R2/L2. Here's hoping.

It would take an adapter if so.  I don't think there are any oldstyle controller ports on it.  

I have hope it can be redesigned though.  MS was quick to redesign their original controller and unlike the rest of the system and specs, there is plenty of time for Sony to do a controller redesign after this horrendous reception.

I like the look of the PS3 much more than the Xbox 360 ... but the controller does look a little odd. However, I don't think you can really judge a controller until you hold it, until you play a mean gaming session with it and really know how it feels, and only time will tell in that regard.

That's true.  On the other hand, there's a year (or more) for people to bitch about how ugly it is.  Maybe Sony will change their mind.

Not only does the controller look horrid, the button layout is not for me. The D-Pad and trigger buttons are not where I like them to be.
