I was wondering...is the PS3 region free with movies as well as games, or is it the games themselves for PS3 that are regionfree??

You damned yanks have NCIS season 6, but no word on when it comes to the motherlands you see :-)

It's region free for most games, but movies are protected. As far as I know there's no way to make your PS3 region free for those.

You can play Blu Ray discs, though.  I ordered Bugsy Malone from Amazon.uk, and it plays fine.  The extras seem to be formatted for your region, though, 'cause they won't play, which sucks.

I'm dying to get Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, but it's not available in the US!

Some Blu-rays are region free apparently, but far from all of them.

I've never had a Bluray not region free (although I haven't tried very many).  If you want to play DVD's on it then you're in trouble.   But BR's "should" be fine.

Here's some info about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blu-ray#Region_codes

Apparently, about 70% of blu-rays released so far are region-free.
