Anyone know if 2 people can play co-op on the same PS3. Like a split screen?

Asked and answered in the Console thread slywink  But the short answer is that it was confirmed in a pre-release interview.

Yes, there is split screen co-op on all consoles, but not PC.

finished it up, with Steam now saying I spent 8 hours on it, going from 'I spent more time than that' to 'I didn't spend that much time than that'.  not too shabby, although I was hoping

Spoiler for Hiden:
they'd get away from the whole testing chamber deal.  it was getting old, first you go through the old ones, then GLaDOS awakes and you go through hers, then you go through the original ones, andthen finally you go through Wheatley's.

I'm also thinking Wheatley may have been Cave, especially after what he said after the credits rolled.

all in all it was very refreshing after a string of disappointing releases in March.

the intro was great. So far the puzzles haven't been too hard, but things are starting to get mixed up. The first handful were like carbon copies of the previous and easy to blow through. Still, enjoying it and the writing is fantastic.

Valve has confirmed that Portal 1 has sold nearly 4 million units worldwide, and that's not including Steam sales, so P2 has some big shoes to fill.

Meh. Portal 1 was a fantastic puzzle game, but I had no "crush" for it.

Also, I never really enjoyed the numerous cake references that popped up due to people's crushes.

Finished it. It says I have 9.9 hours of playing time, although I left it on pause quite a lot. Not sure if Steam counts that in its stats. Anyway, the game is great! I really love their sarcastic sense of humor throughout the entire game.

Ah. I got in the room and heard the music but couldn't find anywhere else to go in that room. Didn't make the connection the music was coming from the turrets just thought it was background mood music for the room.

From everyone I'm hearing about it, there will be a lot of free DLC in the future, but it sounds like a lot of it will be for the co-op mode, especially so since they have a lot of co-op paid DLC. Wouldn't be surprised if the SDK releases soon either.

Heck, I was surprised there weren't any challenge rooms this time around after I finished the game.

Wow, those look like a lot of fun! I went through the single player game and coop with a good friend of mine and had an absolutely wonderful time. FUN was had, MUCH laughing was done. "I got this bro; shit.... no I don't." *SPLASH* Portal 2 is the best game I've ever played. Ico is now in second place. Portal 2 is also the best co-op game I've ever played because you REALLY have to work together to win you can't do anything on your own.

There is a comic online, but beyond that, is there more Portal coming?

Doug: We will be announcing some DLC for it, so folks can keep a look out for more content coming this summer. We'll be putting more details out about that in a week or so. We'll support that with more videos or more comics.

in case you can't get enough Portal 2 and have an iPad, then you might want to check out The Final Hours of portal 2 for 2 bucks.  I hear Valve is also going to be selling empty Red Bull cans that were drank during development.

Not sure if anyone else really picked up on this, but Portal 2 was also one of the first Source engine games that had full dynamic lighting/shadows, a recent upgrade.

It's why you didn't see the flashlights of your friends in left 4 dead, although they had dynamic shadows cast off your flashlight, the player flashlight effect was actually a kind of trick that works only for the player in first person view.
