naw, I canceled it because I don't need a PS3 copy laying around and it's still questionable as to whether or not you'll be able to trade them (no sense paying 10 bucks more).  I'm kinda wishing I had known about the Amazon sale on the PC version before I bought the Steam version.

Revisiting the math, the counter is at 300,000 now, the potatoes are still dropping off at the same rate, which means 7.5 hours until they're all gone around 1:30 a.m. EST.

It kind of ruins the point of having the ARG and promotion and whatever else when the whole thing was gamed from the start.  Yeah, I've worked on fake progress bars as well, and they're only good at engaging/exciting up until the point people realize their input really means nothing and then it backfires.

Damn, I blink and the number jumps from 97 to 707.  There's also a rumor that golden potato people got a free Valve Complete pack.  Though really, with all the crazy sales on Valve games, who doesn't own all of them already by now? Nice gesture if true though.

Nah, it'll just start the countdown to the announcement of the teaser for a soon-to-be-revealed project.  Then they'll release the Rutabega Bushel pack made up entirely of Pretty Pretty Princess games, start an ARG for it, and half the internet will go nuts playing Pretty Pretty Princess, while the rest will whine and moan about the whole thing.

A friend of mine's GF works at Valve. She got some of us free Portal 2 codes that would have let us play early. I got mine yesterday and gave up on the download around 9:30. How big is this freaking game? heheh. Still, can't wait to play it later today.

looks like 4-6 hours for the single player, depending on how stuck you get on the puzzles.  the last one I hit last night I couldn't figure out, but overall they haven't been too difficult if you step back and look over the setup.

Co-op is a completely separate storyline, correct?

That's my understanding.  The commercials that have had the robots running around, those are your MP Co-op avatars.

I read a review on PC Gamer that claimed 8 to 10 hours depending on how 'dumb' you are.

according to Steam when I exited it said I had played for 2 hours.  I'm not sure how accurate that is, but I started playing around 1am and ended around 5am, but had to step away a few times in between.

What chaps my hide is when 20% of the career is locked out like they did in Tiger Woods this year, mapping 5 of the 25 yearly events to courses that I'd have to pay more for if I want to play.

Finished the game. Wow, what a crazy ending. You're all in for a treat.

I had insomnia, so staying up to play Portal 2 was a good an excuse as any.

Officially, steam says I played the game 20 minutes, so I don't think that's accurate.

Already replaying and listening to developer commentary.

Sadly, I'm not seeing any Challenge Rooms in the menu, in Portal 1 those were much harder versions of all the test chambers.

one thing I need to do is check out Portal 1's new ending.  i totally forgot about it until I checked the wiki to see if I was misremembering the ending.

Towards the end, Chel is referred to as being mute now. Also, in some very early indications for Episode 3, Valve had talked about both Alyx and Dog having learned sign language together to communicate silently. It's also mentioned that they might meet a familiar character from the portal series.

Since Chel is officially mute, with Alyx and Dog knowing sign language, there's just too much of an opportunity to have Chel show up, especially now that she has officially escaped the test chamber.

yeah, that's what confused me at the beginning when I forgot they changed things.

btw, they have a bunch of Portal 2 stuff in the Valve Store (potentially small spoilers).  I kinda want the pint glass.
