Hmm.  Do I want to log into one of these games to help all the primary PC game buyers get their unlock faster or deliberately not play those games so they don't have as much a lead over my Amazon delivery on Tuesday?  Decisions, decisions...

At one point it was set for over 29 hours advance release, but since that one game hit 100% completion it's dropped back to just barely over 24 hours.

I have no idea how their bar graph works.  The number of CPUs listed for 1.2.3 Kick It awhile ago was 2800+.  Right now, it's 2638, but the bar graph has since increased.  Really don't get it.

Let's rephrase this.

1) The number shown is the number of people actually playing the game.  Got it.
2) Why is the bar graph increasing when the number of people shown playing is decreasing?

As in the number currently playing is 2489.  The number in my prior post was 2638, but the graph has increased again.

No, look at this wiki site for the details.  The number is just how many people are currently playing.  The bar graph is the total time played in that game.  The number of potatoes collected increases the speed at which the bars fill.  If a bar completely fills it moves the release clock back a bit, whether we get them all or not.

Also, the current target is AaAaAAaa!!!

I left AaAaAAA!! running in the "Relax" window with the sound muted for the duration of the Wings-Yotes game.  It generated an Aperture Science login screen, but the password long fall which works for collecting potatotes in regular levels doesn't work for this one.  Anyone have any idea what the password should be?

someone on the Steam forums said 13 hours, but didn't have anything to back it up and quickly got shouted down.  if one game knocks 40 minutes off the clock and that's the same for each game it'd only be about 9 hours early.

That's a full hour's jump, meaning that the weight of each one is probably proportional to the popularity of the game.

I stand by my former assessment.  With 10 other games in play, you're looking at, at best, midnight Pacific, but I figure midnight Eastern is more likely. Only three games have been completed.  Monday will have a drop off as people head back to work.  Just plan on it being available on Tuesday morning.  Unless you plan on taking Tuesday off to play it right when it unlocks (and I'm sure someone out there has done so), it'll be waiting for you when you get home, much like my PS3 copy will be.

Toki Tori is next.

The more owners a game has, the longer it takes to fill up the time played bar.  For this reason, Killling Floor is last (most owners) and Defense Grid is 2nd to last (2nd most owners).

Last night I moved the PC back into the living room on the 46" screen.  Last night I played through Portal again, and just now finally did the advanced maps.  Man, those were pretty gross, especially the disorientation on the last leg of the chamber 18 level.  I thought it was bad the first time.  I might take a whack at the challenge maps, but I've never been much for speed runs, so maybe not.

My copy of 2 is safely ordered at Best Buy for a net of $15, and should be ready to be gotten on Tuesday morning.  Sometimes being unemployed ain't so bad.  slywink

The potato thing has gotten me playing Audiosurf again.  The game's still really good, but man, whatever they did to add in the Portal stuff has introduced a ton on instability.  I've gotten frequent crashes both before and after songs, and I suspect it's related to trying to avoid having to replay the "bonus" song every time I start the game up.  Really frustrating, and I hope they remove that stuff soon.

hmm.. the Steam page says releasing in one day and 17 hours.  current countdown is one day and 12ish hours.  I'm also guessing Gamestop is doing a midnight release because I got a text about SOCOM 4 being available at 12:01 am on Tuesday and I don't think that game is big enough for a midnight release on its own.

so, if they bump it up to a midnight release it's technically not a bonus for PC players if the console version is available at midnight releases.  kinda make it feel like we're jumping through hoops for nothing other than getting it the same time they do.
