If somebody keeps track of a ladder or scores I'll be more than happy to shower the winner with glory on the front page. As for the losers...well...we can beat you like the dogs you are.

How many teams are we shooting for in this tournament? Reason I ask is because I can't promise I can do multiple games for it with possible reviewable games coming out around and after that time. If it's short or small, I'd take the Vikings...but I hold the right to bow out if that's ok.

AF - I'd love to get the whole league filled, but look at it this way, all you need to do is lose once and your time issues are solved!

Man, you are like a virus that spreads to all my forums!!!!! I unfortunately can not set up/manage the tournament this season. I will be sick that month. But, I definately will participate in it and gladly assist whoever is in charge with some small duties if they would like. And as the official assistant to whoever is going to run the tournament, my first act of power will be to strip Devil of the Eagles, and make him take............................ THE COLTS !!!!!!! Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. LD

Hell, now that I have a website I suppose I could run the tournament Let me know and I will be more than happy too. It doesn't seem all that hard anyway, just make a bracket and fill them in as people email me the results. I can handle that.

Thanks Eco!! COLTS!! Everyone in the EBG forum at the old place would consider that cheating by having God himself as my QB!

I'll take the panthers! I'm not on XBOX live yet, but I will be by August 10th. Also, although I'm not any good, I'm up for playing in any online capacity. I'd love to try a small league sometime of dedicated players, because having all your box scores and league leaders online at the espnvideogames site is pretty darn cool (from what I've seen from the PS2 version last year)

See, that's what I love about Naednek...
Even though he knows the Niners' are going to border on horrible this year, he is a faithful and true fan.
Good Form!

Since Ken's the bigger Niner fan (judging by the sheer number of 49er related items he owns/wears), I won't argue with him taking the team. That and I hate Denis Erickson. Damn I hate Erickson... Anyway, I'll take the Bengals. If anyone else really wants them, since I'm not horribly attached to them, I'll give them up and plays as the Jets or Lions. But for now... the Bengals. Gotta go with the team that has my boy Carson Palmer at QB gellar Handle: TehGellar

I'll take the Browns. We actually almost finished last year's tournament except TCrouch bowed out.
Given the last 2 seasons. I hate to say this but.....
Is anyone up for a small GG league this year? With the built in web tracking on live, it should be fairly easy to set up.

I'm going to suck, and my schedule can be a bit wonky (hopefully it'll be better by football season), but I'm up for it.
I'll grab the Pats.

All I ask, is that people who are signing up to play, realize it's a commitment, and if you are flaky, you are not hurting just you, you are ruining the fun of others. Last year was really frustrating and I had serious reservations of joining this, the only saving grace is that it's a bracket, and it's not too long. I'd love to do a league, but from past experiences (ESPN NFL, and Links) those didn't last long.
So I reiterate, if you are going to join, please think about the longterm.

I love the idea of a league, if people would be completely committed to playing their games. I hear this year, in addition to keeping standings, league leaders, and box scores for ever game, teams can even complete online trades between teams. That's just too cool...

I just noticed that stevemd took the phish.
I then went and looked at the thread and realized I never claimed the Dolphins myself.......... what a retard!
Btw, welcome to the forums stevemd.
Now, to choose a team....
I will playing my Steelers in franchise, so they are OUT.
I have narrowed it down to either the Raiders or the Seahawks.
Or maybe the Redskins .... or the Jaguars ..... hmmm.... so may teams I actually like in the NFL.
Who do you guys think will have the best defense, especially DB's?
Whoever you guys think will have the best cornerbacks especially will be my pick. God knows I can use all the help I can get back there. Taylor or Woodson... juicy choice right there.
(...and if some of you are wondering if I have lost my mind in considering the Raiders... remember that Norv is their head coach this year... I am a HUGE fan of his. And yes, I realize they are running a 3-4 this year... but so do the Steelers, so I am used to it.)
- - - -
(Eco... nice website. Thanks for heading this thing up too. That was mighty nice of you! But it's still my goal to thoroughly hand your Titans their ass!)

OK. So let's see if I can help out Devil and Eco a bit here. In order they have been claimed:Devil - EaglesEcoLogic - Titans (boo!) AgtFox - VikingsCaveman - PanthersGraham - PackersNaednek - 49ersSoulbringer - RamsGellar - BengalsDenoginizer - BillsChaz - Patriotsstevemd - Dolphins (go phins!) pr0ner - ChiefsLockdown - RaidersWudmon - RavensSimon - SeahawksDriver - JaguarsTebunker - Texans- - - - - Not too bad actually. 17 teams claimed so far. I believe that a tournament (in the range we're looking at) needs either 16 or 20 teams. If we hit 20, we should start. Website : Tournament HomepageOnce Eco updates the Participants page, you can go there easier than coming here to view who's "IN". LD

I say we kick it off earlier - How's August 9th sound?
Everyone gets a few weeks with it and that way we might even be able to do a second one before the season starts (wishful thinking!).

Well I just got a look at some of the ratings for the Browns at Operation Sports... Kenard Lang is their's best player at 85 overall. Yikes !!! After a quick look at the numbers (granted this is from the beta), it looks like the Browns dropped from second worse behind the Cardinals last season to the bottom this year. The funny thing is last year they were coming off a playoff season and were still rated badly. I guess this year it is probably justified. If no-one objects I'd like to switch to the Bills
