These PS3/Wii/360/PSP/DS comparison threads are getting out of hand.  I'd like them to stop please.  Too many people are piling into the same threads to rehash the same thing over and over.  Some of you like the PS3.  Great.  Some of you hate it.  Great.  Some of you think the Wii is great.  Wonderful.  Some of you think its pointless.  Wonderful.  You've said your peace and we know where everyone stands, so just knock it off.

Thanks all.

I'd like to request that any such references include pictures.  I know Scarlett offhand, but the other two I would not necessarily recognize.  I need to be sure.

Is this really the best solution?  To prohibit discussion of how this new console battle shapes up over the next year?  No mention of which version of a cross-platform release has better visuals?  Whether it's worth getting a nonHD Wii version of a game because of the motion control?  Whether Forza 2 or Gran Turismo 5 is the new champion of the genre?

It's your house, and your rules, of course.  It's just sad that I'd have to head to QT3 or OO to find discussion about how this new Nintendo-Sony-Microsoft cagematch is shaping up.  I like GT better.

Is there really no way we can turn the discussions civil again, instead of getting rid of them entirely?

I think Ron was just asking for a cease fire.  Those threads just turned into flame wars to quickly.  Being gamers I think we will always discuss and fight when it comes to the different systems smile

Not to step on KD's toes, but I think the intent is just to give everyone a bit of a breather.  I'm sure the discussions will crop up again in a less heated manner once people are calmer and more rational.

I suggest rather than forbidding it, to build a fence around it.

Right now it's a discussion that keeps derailing the POINT OF THE THREADS.

So I'mma gonna make a thread for it, and if someone derails another thread with this crap it can be shunted over to the right one.

I'll post links here.

This is exactly right.  We all need to take a step back from this and take a deep breath.  I'm not looking to prohibit conversation, quite the opposite actually.  What I'd like is a return to rational conversations.   I've love to see a discussion where I could talk about the differences between the PS3 and 360 versions of Fight Night Round 3 that didn't devolve into a pissing match about how much one platform is better/is worse than the other.  Right now there are too many hurt feelings and such to even attempt such a discussion.  I'm suggesting everyone step back and get some perspective before trying again.

I have created a couple threads for the two major conflict topics.

I am hoping people are mature with their participation, the CoC always applies.

From teh other thread:

This is stupid. Cowbell cures all.

I understand Ron's point, and think he is right. We have gotten to the point where regular discussion has gotten difficult, and thats just counter to everything we have as a community built here. All of us, myself included, need to relax and step back. Others need to get off their high horses and stop picking fights. We all just need to have fun.

For the record, I like everything but the Wii, but I would play it if I had it. In fact, I would like someone to buy it for me. Zelda looks cool. I also want a DS now.
