According to RPGamer, Nippon Ichi has announced their next game, a sequel to Phantom Brave called Phantom Kingdom.  They also have some scans of the Famitsu article announcing the game.

it is in no way related to phantom brave. guess they just like the word phantom.

here is the article with the proof.

"And though the strategy RPG may share a common name with the previously release Phantom Brave, NIS representatives wanted to make it clear that Kingdom was in no way related to Brave."

Did Phantom Brave not sell well in the US?  The IGN article made it sound like they wanted to distance themselves from Phantom Brave and play up the similarity to Disgaea, while the name and RPGamer article made it sound like a sequel to PB.

The given description of the plot is rather Disgaea-like - Evil Overlord trying to take power again, but the battle system seems to still take its cues from Phantom Brave - one of the IGN screenshots looks like you're confining phantoms into items within a given radius of a summoned building(?).  But hey, at the very least, they have prinnies.  Prinny dood.
