it Looks like RARE are to continue bringing their classics to Xbox Live after Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooiie....in the form of Perfect Dark http://uk.xboxlive.ign.com/articles/970/970984p1.htmlUS, April 8, 2009 - There are no accidents. At least, not when it comes to postings from Rare. That's why newly released screens from the beloved UK-based developer are causing a stir. Recently, Rare posted images of a new Banjo-Kazooie theme. Included in one of the images is the "My Xbox" blade for one of Rare's employees. Among the "Latest Games" listed is a fuzzy picture of Joanna Dark. This is not the icon that displays from playing Perfect Dark Zero.
The implication is that, like Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, the N64 version of Perfect Dark is headed to XBLA. The image is in no way confirmation of PD on XBLA. It could, as one editor noted, just be Rare "screwing with everyone." i will be up for this,i never got round to playing this...i did play Perfect Dark Zero, and that was so-so,but as i understand it,Perfect Dark was a classic i still wish Nintendo wouldnt be an ass and find someway for RARE to continue with Goldeneye, even if it would mean it coming to both XBL and VC

I just finished reading this in my RSS feeds and jumped over here to see if anyone cared. I would be all over this DLC if it were released. I love PDZ and still play it to this day. I would be happy to drop down some funny money for more DLC goodies.

I love the original Perfect Dark, and would re-purchase it on XBLA even if only to get the outstanding multiplayer mode available online.

Man, sometimes it's good to miss out. Since I didn't have an N64, I'll get to play Perfect Dark for the first time looking like this:

That game's biggest weakness was, IMO, that it was too ambitious for the N64's hardware. Lots of framerate/slowdown issues while playing that game. I think it would fare far better on modern hardware with a decent facelift.

I've been feeling guilty that I never played either of the versions, especially since I've been using Joanna Dark's face for my avatar. Though I never got into the N64 version - no doubt I couldn't get the cameras right - I did buy PDZ with my launch 360. I put it in the drive, watched the movie, played for 10 minutes, then went on to the other games I got with it. Something must have drawn me into one of them, then there was Halo, then FFXI... and I never went back to PDZ. I've officially placed it on my backlog list, so there is hope, but that's about all for now, lol.

I just read 'too ambitious for the N64 hardware' and immediately thought of Conker. But yes, JFG also had the same set of issues. And it also was an absolutely huge game.

That's interesting - I thought all arcade games had 12 achievements worth 200 points. This one has 20 worth 200.

I'm pretty sure you can break up your set number of points any way you want, within reason. I don't think you could have 200 1 point achievements, for example, but you probably could have 40 5 pointers. But that would be lame.

i played the trial(i am too skint to buy games ATM),went down the stairs from the roof and hit that switch next to the fan, unfortunately it turned out to be just a lightswitch, but that was me lost in the dark for about 5 minutes until i realised i could shoot my gun so i could see for a second and find the lightswitch again...then i killed that woman that was meant to be kept alive

I did every one of those things myself! I did buy it, though, and I'm finding the SP a lot of fun. More than I would have thought. MP is fun, but in a "Man, did we really play like this?" kind of way. I never played the original, so my fuzzy memory endorphins aren't kicking in. It's still entertaining, but movement is just so awkward, IMO.

I finally unlocked the trial and I must say the games a blast when played split-screen co-op. I'd forgotten, as others have already discovered, how easy it is to screw up in this game. It definitely pays to spend the time to go through the device trainings. Of course my 13 year old son gets it all right away and shames me, just as my nephew did back in the day on the N64. Great fun, can't wait to get further into it.
