The review on this website just gushes over it, and though it is a rail shooter I am thinking of giving it a try.   I can't find it for rent at my Blockbusters anymore, so, I may just buy it but I would love to know if it still shines after all that has come out since then.  Or, now looking back, does it just not cut it?

*shrug* I thought it was garbage then too... course I didn't see anything special about Halo either, so maybe it's just me.

I really enjoyed Orta.  It is difficult, but if you enjoy a challenge, I would say go for it.  I think it will be one of those classic games that will be difficult to come by later on.

I bought it used a while back for something like $12.99 I played it a few times and really couldnt get into it.  It had good graphics but I didnt think the gameplay was as fun as other rail shooters I have played.  I still love Star Fox 64

The graphics are great, but I had trouble with the controls in a few areas -- it was pretty fun for a while.

I'm the one that did the review.  I haven't played Orta in a while, but I thought it was a pretty damn good shooter for a genre that gets little to no love on any system nowadays.

Starfox gives you more movement control, so there's the "dodge" effect in it (where you run into stuff). In orta (IIRC, it's been a long time), it focuses on the shooting in 360 degree mayhem.

I loved the game, I don't know why I don't own it.

I'll be watching for a used copy now. Thanks. Thanks a lot. Like I need MORE games in my life.

Wow, what idiot would pay that for it?  Geez.  For your sake, I am glad they did, but give me a break.  I have been to three blockbusters and all of them had it used for $12.99.

I still haven't gotten it cuz i am just not too sure about the whole rail-shooting thing.  Unfortunately, no way to rent it.

Mike...I think you might be confusing Panzer Dragoon Saga on Saturn and Panzer Dragoon Orta on Xbox.  The former is worth A LOT of money because there were very few copies that were sold.  It is an RPG, not just a straight rail shooter like Orta (although the rails are rather wide in Orta).  People would easily pay $150 for Saga though...it's worth it, one of the best Saturn games.

Panzer Dragoon Saga was one of those games that was very different, and as thus, one of the best on the console hands down. It was a hybrid RPG/shooter, and no game that I can think of came close to it as far as the battle system goes.

And if I remember right, it was the second to last game to be released in the US, and only had a total of like 35,000 copies made. It was also 6 CDs.

And it's a game I'll never let go. Although $150 sounds tempting some days... biggrin

Knightshade,  I have found at least 4 copies for $15 or less in my area and haven't even looked hard.  Just stumbled across them.  Plus at Half.com they are going for about that.

And you guys are right, I am talking about Orta, which sold about 125,000 copies as I understand.  Still not alot out there to be had.  Still debating.  Will probably go ahead and get it tomorrow and if I don't like it, surely I can get $10 for it and reduce my losses.

Thanks guys.

Orta has that too, but there's a meter that runs down while you move around.  It fills back up pretty quickly though.
