WTF??   Had I known this, I wouldn't have dropped the $60 for the 360 version.   icon_evil

Good for Gametap, though.

What's the fee for Gametap, $15/mo?  So all the people who just bought the game for $60 could have gotten 4 months of Gametap for free?  Great deal for current and potential Gametap subscribers, but man, way to screw over your customers.

Very enticing for me, though, as I was tempted by Overlord and have been eyeing a Gametap more and more these days.

It's $7-$10, depending on how long you sign up for.

That's it?  Wow, so the people who bought the game for $60 could've gotten at least half a year of Gametap for free?  Ouch.

With games like Sam and Max, Sid Meier's Pirates, Tomb Raider, Jade Empire, and now Overlord, GameTap seems to be hitting some pretty decent titles. Nothing thrilling, but easily worth the $0.99 for the first month (trial). Definitely going to sign up for that ASAP. smile

Uh, I saw them on GameTap. I'm not sure how the system works, but I saw both of them.

Guess it's not part of the deal, though. My bad!

Interesting.  I didn't know Gametap is getting into the business of selling games as well.

Gametap is also getting DIRT and Clive Barker's Jericho when it's released, according to Worthplaying.

Glad I waited on DIRT.

Man, Gametap is really starting to roll out the big guns now.  It's gone from a fun place to play around with "retro" games, to pretty much a no-brainer subscription for anyone interested in gaming.   Looks like the weeks of 6 Freddy Fish games being the only thing on the release schedule are long gone (thankfully).  I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they'll do my renewal at the same price as last year ($60 for the whole year).

well there are only so many Freddy Fish games....  icon_wink  The other game mentioned, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, looks like it might be interesting but never something I'd purchase.  Also, getting them off of Gametap means NO STARFORCE!!!!

pc version was $40, not 60.  now, if you could gametap to a 360, that would be kickass.

still, most people will be paying 30 bucks less than what it is at the store.  and Gametap does recognize the 360 controller which will make it nice.

Forget Overlord - you'll be able to get the true pinnacle of gaming in September!

Long before the shame of Red Steel and well beyond the absurdity of Advent Rising, there existed only Daikatana. A game so dreadfully awful that the mere mention of it can be considered the setup and the punchline. Should you not be fortunate enough (yes, fortunate) to have experienced this godless monster of taint, GameTap will be offering it up to subscribers come September 6th.

Whoho... Wait... Why am I cheering again?  crybaby

damn Overlord is fun!  I just got the desert portion unlocked and I'm having a blast.  The mouse/keyboard combo is almost perfect except for the spell selection, where you have to hit F1-F12 to switch to any one of the spells.  I also wish there was a key to recall all of your minions at once instead of having to madly click on the mouse button 30+ times but I don't see one in the control settings.

Oh, and Gametap incorrectly figures that my CPU isn't good enough to run it because it's a Core 2 Duo and their system diagnosis program doesn't recognize the second core.  Thankfully you can just tell GT to ignore it and play on.  I've got everything maxxed out with no issues.

I've had the exact same problem with other games and my AMD 3200 CPU. I posted a suggestion with Gametap to correct this; hopefully they'll fix it soon.
Thanks for posting impressions of the game CeeKay, I'm going to download it tonight. smile

No prob.  I actually just finished the game tonight- the end boss was ridiculously easy once you figured out what you need to do, but doing what needed to be done took awhile.

So what was the verdict on this game?  I won't be getting it anytime soon, but I looked at it when I was at Best Buy, and it looked pretty cool.

I liked it, but had I paid full price it might have been a different story.  10 bucks was the perfect price for it- if you sign up for Gametap they may even have a special where you get a free month or something, and then you can play it.

My wife and I are totally addicted to this game and absolutely love it. It's kinda surprising for her to like this game as she pretty much only plays adventure games. This game is basically a retooled version of Pikmin. I would not have regretted playing full price so paying the Gametap price makes it a steal.

Plus there's more goodies in the "coming soon" section of Gametap including Grim and Jericho.
