Gametrailers has a video for Outland, an action/platform game coming to XBLA and PSN next year.  The basic gameplay looks like Metroid (fight through one big world, gaining new abilities that let you access new areas) combined with the light/dark gameplay of Ikaruga, which seems like it should make for an interesting mix.

Didn't the second Metroid Prime Echoes already have light and dark elements?

It does look cool, though.  Reminds me of Out of This World.

Looks like a lot of fun, awesome art style to boot. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

Downloaded the demo.  Boughten.

Fantastic game.  Looks amazing and controls extremely well.  Metroid meets Ikaruga about nails it.

It would be nice if us PS3 gamers could actually buy and DL the game.  crybaby

I really enjoyed the demo.  I'll wait for the $7.99 sale on PSN+, whenever that will be.

I've read a few of the interviews and I want the game, but I'm also looking for a game with offline co-op or Vs. Is there anything like this with local co-op - already own Aces of the Galaxy and Ikaruga.

Awesome game with some of the best 2d graphics I've seen.
I am a PSN+ subscriber but I went ahead and bought it on the 360 after playing the demo just wasn't worth the wait for $2.
The game is smooth as silk and runs at 1080P with no slowdown.

I just watched the video yesterday, and what struck me was how much it looked like "Limbo with fighting" - including the ladders, cliff-jumping, and giant spiders.  I'll be OUT! though;  I can either run or jump, or fight - all three at once?  Mmmm, no!

I'm enjoying this a lot. The platforming is solid and I like the art style. Kind of a Limbo Metroidvania Tron-meets-tribal thing going for it.

I hate platformers, but I find myself really liking this one.  Something about the combo of the art, and the fact that the controls are very smooth and responsive.  When I miss a jump and fall, I feel like I screwed it up and not that the game is fucking with me.

Late to party on this, playing the free Playstation Plus download. Beat the second boss but now the game is getting silly hard. Afraid I'm going to wind up giving up frown
