kinda goes without saying, doesn't it? this looks cool, it's a 'castle defense' game. you run around placing traps to stop the infinite amount of orcs from killing you too soon.

Heh, I hope this game turns out to be as fun as it looks. I like the idea of 3rd person combat mixed in with an original take on the tower defense thing.

I liked the interactive trailer. I'm thinking I will enjoy this game. Looks like it controls pretty well. I'm hoping it has a deep campaign which slowly levels up your powers and forces to choose paths instead of giving you everything at the end. Touch choices makes good games.

I see there is now a demo available for this on Steam. Has anyone given it a try yet? EDIT: Well I tried the demo, and had a lot of fun. Enough fun so that I pre-purchased it already. There are only three maps to play, but you get to try out a few of the different traps and powers in them.

Played the demo. It's fun. Not sure about long term enjoy ability but if you like this type of game I doubt you will be disappointed. My one complaint is that it appears to be single player only. After having fun with Sanctum in multiplayer it seems like it should have been a nobrainer here.

I'm going to give this one's demo a try tonight for one main reason: I got a strong "Tecmo's Deception" vibe off the video I saw previously, and man, that was one game series I absolutely loved and still miss. Hopefully this will be close enough.

While the demo was enjoyable to some extent, I don't feel the full game would really be something I would complete.

I gave the demo a shot. Extremely pretty and well-animated. Very fun concept. The humor's pretty irritating - that dorky dance your character does whenever you complete a mission kinda makes me want to get him killed - but it has a pretty good feel to it.

This released on Steam today, and I had to jump through a few hoops to get it running. Specifically I had to verify some Steam files, which seems to be a common enough problem based on the Steam support forums. I've played a few more levels past where the demo ended, and they definitely ratchet up the difficulty. I had to replay each of them a few times to get the 5 skulls rating, making some tough choices along the way for what to upgrade and what to take into battle. I'd say that anybody who enjoyed the demo is probably going to find quite a bit to like in the full game. Oh, and if it matters to you, it keeps track of your kills and level ratings from the demo, so you don't have to replay those unless you want to put a score up on the leaderboard.

I'm enjoying the game quite a bit. It's a 3rd person tower defense game like Sanctum but much better in my opinion. The defenses you can place are quite fun and have different uses.
My only complaint so far is that there are not enough waves. The level is over just as you're starting to build up your defenses. I'm hoping this is just for the few several missions as each you introduces to the level and how the new defenses work.

I didn't notice my e-mail notification in time, but IGN Prime (I think I got absorbed into membership as a Fileplanet member or something) was actually doling out keys for free copies of this earlier this afternoon.

The DLC is on sale on Steam as well, for $2 instead of $2.50. Now I can also buy...a can of soda in 1990?

It looks like they will be launching the next DLC with more of what people really want: - Five New Fortresses – Repel the orc onslaught in four completely new fortresses plus a reverse version of The Tower where your enemies have the high ground! Each fortress can be played on Apprentice, War Mage, or Nightmare difficulty.
- Two New Enemies – Fear the icy breath of the Frost Bat, and beware the draining magical attack of the Cyclops Mage!
- New Leaderboards – Challenge your friends for the highest score on leaderboards for each of the five new levels.
- New skull rewards – Earn up to fifty additional skulls to further upgrade your arsenal of traps!
- A New Bonus Defense! - Place the Mana Well in strategic locations around a fortress for a burst of magical energy at just the right moment.
It's supposed to hit Steam on Tuesday for an introductory price of $2.99.
