I really appreciate that the UI doesn't look like someone barfed Metro on my tv screen...with adds and other nonsense.  Having the ability to move things around, or hide apps would be good, especially for things I'll never use.  Having my games lined up for me to play as soon as I start is exactly what I wanted.

The menus are supposed to be dynamic, so anything you don't use should get pushed far to the right of the list, where you won't see it.

I was really glad to see What's New working.   I really like that feature.  I want all of you to post more videos and screenies to it though.... then I can browse through and watch your gaming moments.

I'm really tempted to get a Vita so I can try the remote play in my house.  I was waiting because it sounded too good to be true.

Yep, honestly this UI wins by default cause it is not Metro. I hate Metro on Windows 8 and I hate the look of it on the XB1. It's just like someone barfed a bunch of random squares all over my screen. Yuck. I really wish that MS would have done something different with the XB1.

Tried Vita remote play over the internet again and it can't find my PS4.   This time I tried it from work.   Is there an additional setting I need to configure to get it to be locatable (?) over the internet vs home network?

You probably need to forward a specific port in your router, but I don't know which one.

I had a video I posted of a cool Killzone moment, but you can only post them to facebook, and I really don't want gaming stuff on my facebook page. If I could find some way to share them with you without having everyone see it on my facebook.

I've got no problem with being a gamer, and even talk about it on my facebook. However, I don't want to fill my FB page with random stuff for my non-gaming friends to see.

I need to check, but I know FB pretty much requires that anything that posts for you can be scaled to a single friend or a pre-identified group. If you can't do it via PS4, you might be able to do it via the app settings on FB (which would likely be better anyway)

So I think what you can do with Facebook is go into the settings -> apps, then go to playstation network and set it to publish only to a custom group. Make the custom group just people you think will care about game stuff.

Hm, looks like this doesn't work - it goes by the settings on the console, which is just "only me", "friends" and "friends of friends".

Looks like we might be getting both Tomb Raider and Everquest Next on the PS4.

Quote
According to the product page, the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will include the main game, all its DLC, and an artbook. Various multiplayer map packs for Tomb Raider were released, though no new story content was ever introduced.

Quote
So far, MMORPG EverQuest Next has been confirmed only for PC, but it appears a PlayStation 4 version may be in the works, according to a tease from Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley.

"We haven't announced, technically, that we're putting it on PlayStation 4, but it's fair to say that we're a Sony company so, you know, I say that with a smile on my face," Smedley told GamerHub TV (via CVG). "I can't wait to see it on the PS4."

I loved TR and played through 100% completion, but I don't know if I need to do it again.  Will see what kind of updates there are, if any.  I would rather play something like The Last of Us on PS4 and of course GTAV.

I played through Tomb Raider to 100% completion as well, and won't need to play it again. You should temper your hopes for The Last of Us though. It's a game specifically made for the PS3, which makes it nontrivial to port. Naughty Dog has a lot of other balls in the air. Tomb Raider on the other hand was also built for PCs, so getting it to run on the PS4 is pretty straightforward. It would be a bit more tricky on the Xbox One, so it remains to be seen if games like this get ported and upgraded for both consoles in the future.

Called Sony tonight - They will overnight me a box and once they get my broken down PS4, they will overnight me a new one.

Hopefully this little ordeal will be done by the end of the week and I can set it up next to my Xbox One (that will probably break too).

Stinks, but that's the price you pay sometimes. Would never keep me from not getting a launch console. Waiting isn't worth it either.

Yes, you should be able to.

Also, found out you can restrict who sees your Facebook posts. Go to the settings and Facebook link and you can choose to only share with one of your Facebook lists. So put your geek friends in a list and no one will know your secret.
