PA Report Impressions of the PS4 Controller

It continues to get universal acclaim, and "having used both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 controllers for a significant amount of time, I find the PlayStation 4 option much better. This is the best next-generation controller on the market."

But I am definitely annoyed to see there's currently no way to disable the glowy part of the controller.  I'll have to see in person how bright it is, but I'm usually annoyed by this sort of thing.

based on the last week's worth of play time so far, the light isn't too bright.  of course, I have it while hooked to the PC with the blue glowing lights.  have to see how a PS4 game handles it in a stealth game like Thief or Dying Light though.

Good to hear.  I'm still on the fence about which console to get first, but if I do end up preferring the PS4 controller as much as all the early impressions are hinting that I will, that's likely going to be the deciding factor to push me PS4 first.  In the 360/PS3 gen, even if the PS3 version of a single player multiplatform game was reported as having better graphics, I'd still go 360 for the controller.

same here.  now, I finally feel that the DS4 is as good as the 360 controller overall and better in some ways. The 360 controller still reigns on the PC though simply due to the native support in games.  if Sony can get a decent driver or get native support included, they can compete there as well.  I'm looking forward to trying out the XB1 controller to compare.

I'm in gamer heaven today. It's so awesome being able to sit and watch hours and hours of the Gamespot live stream (or any number of other livestreams if you prefer. I just like Danny O'Dwyer) to see the PS4 in action after all these months of rumors, spoon-fed information and guesswork. The console is still more than two weeks away for me, but this is definitely making the wait easier. smile

Seems super easy, pull cover off and remove one screw.  Not too sure I want to spring for a SSD like Gamespot put in there but nice to have it has an option.

PA Report Impressions of Remote Play

I. Am. Sold.

Highlights:
  • AssCred 4 looked better on the Vita than on the hotel's HDTV
  • no extra computing cost to developers when utilizing the feature
  • only took half a day for Ubisoft to get Remote Play working for AssCred, and then just a day and a half to refine the controls

Thank God.   Vita is so sexy, but it's been sitting there in my drawer of my night stand for 6 months.   I can't wait to use this feature.

One major game that is missing is that PSP Kingdom Hearts game that came out on UMD only.  I had bought a PSP Go to replace my PSP and then that game didn't come out digitally and I was so pissed. frown

I would assume it's the same or similar to the PS3.
You use a usb flash drive with the built in Playstation backup software, pop the new drive in, then restore from said flash drive. It was easy to do, but time consuming..IE: hours...

Don't forget to grab the latest firmware from the Update menu.  It'll activate the PS4 Remote Play features, as well as a few other tweaks.
