It's not really a media presentation AFAIK. Yeah, the media are all there, but this isn't like E3. So CNN and other TV crews are all there too.

And Destiny will work on the PS4 and the PS3? Why in the world would you limit yourself that badly? Just put it out on the PS4/Xbox 720.

Nope. None of that tonight and honestly I didn't expect it. Hopefully we'll get it at E3.

But what do we know? It'll have a PC processor, a PC graphic card, 8GB of RAM, a Hard Drive, and a suspend/hibernate mode. All like a PC.

So IMHO, the 720 is going the same way - it'll be a PC. Yeah, it'll drastically boost console gaming quality this generation (and make the PC look really, really good too), but our consoles aren't 'consoles' anymore. They're a lot of other things.

Oh, and the WiiU? The only games it'll get are Nintendo exclusives, console exclusives, and ports of PS3/360 titles. It's dead. And even more dead if the PS4/720 launch this year.

Deep Down - looks interesting
Watch Dogs - was already in, but for the PC
Diablo 3 - already got on PC for free and still think I paid too much
Destiny - meh, I don't want to play shooters that way

No native PS3 support knocks it down a peg.  are they going to make you rebuy all your old games for the everything everywhere idea?

overall-  not enough to be anything more than 'wait and see'.  I may pre-order one just to have an option to eBay it should there be enough interest, but at the rumored price points I'm thinking it will be a long shot.

Personally what I think they're aiming for with their cloud support is this:

Take your PS1/PS2/PS3 disc and toss it into the PS4 (it should be able to read those no problem). Then it'll activate the 'cloud service' that Sony owns (whatever it's called), and it'll stream it to your PS4/Vita/tablet/whatever.

The PS4 can go into a low-power mode for background patching/downloading. And no doubt can activate to full power over wi-fi (again, like PCs can do). So that's how it'll be able to verify you own said disc from anywhere in the world, and stream it to whatever device you want.

Also, PS3 backwards compatibility was IMPOSSIBLE this gen. Period. WAY too much of a core console change. I don't expect it out of the 720 either, although it has a somewhat decent chance (as the 360 was more or less a PC, but not quite).

Very much excited about Destiny, I love co-op games and Destiny seems to be all about co-op.

Very excited to see what Media Molecule does with the tech they have. Perhaps LittleBigPlanet 3D?

Otherwise, pretty disappointing show overall. Seems like all they wanted to do was just make sure to get ahead of MS.

yeah lots of games have exclusive PS3 content...but you never know,maybe the 360/720 version of Destiny will have its own exclusive content


I must admit,i am quite disappointed with tonight's presentation,too much talk on social stuff..obviously also the no console reveal,and out of the games Watch Dogs is still the one to watch....but i thought that when it was revealed last year,and Destiny looks decent,but that was revealed last week

Holiday 2013 release though,so it is a good bet that it will be E3 when we see it,which is probably when we will see the 720...infact tonight was pretty much wasted,we knew the PS4 was coming anyway

Yup, although now I wonder if there will be fewer and fewer exclusives. XBOX is down like one exclusive (Gears). Will this mean that some of the real PS exclusives will go PC this gen?

Well, I'm sold. I love my PS3 and Vita. Can't wait to see what the PS4 has in store for me later this year!

Also, the ability to play ALL my PS4 games on the Vita via Remote Play?? This is what the PS3 should have done! Just killed the main advantage of the Wii U for me.  Seriously, how can the Wii U even hope to compete against the PS4 and the new Xbox? The online and community features the PS4 has (not to mention the graphics etc...but that goes without saying) and the new Xbox I am sure will have, just make the MiiVerse and Nintendo Online look really sad.
