Wow.

I was getting into the idea of giving this one a try, hell, watching some footage, I was actually getting excited to learn a new hockey game after mastering the 2k series for a few years in a row now.

Until I heard a little blurb in the GameTrailer's video preview that stated "don't expect leagues, tournaments, or even co-operative online play in this version" because of EA's focus on the offline game.

That is so fucked up.  Honestly.  There's a little bit of a rawr! going on at the official forums, but it's not like they'll include it now, the game is nearly out.

I play the 2k series exclusively online with Depward and GatorFavre, and it's sad to see I'll be limited to only playing the 2k series this year, especially at seeing how EA has made definite strides (it would seem) in their NHL series.  Next-gen, my ass.  Pathetic.  GRAR!

It's EA.  They didn't have enough lameness built-in yet, so they had to invent some.

No shock at all.

The first year of any game, on any console, from EA is always crippled.

Were you really expecting all their features included in the first NHL game on 360?

You could see this coming from miles away.

Shock and awe.  It's not like a launch title sports game - they had a LONG TIME to work on this title.  Realistically, I guess you could consider it a "first year" of this game, but we're in the second "year" of sports games!  Plus it's online co-op.  Not including that is retarded, simply dumb.

I don't see online co-op as a 'feature' - it's present in just about every online sports game.

That being said, I saw some gameplay videos of NHL2k7 and I kinda dug the whole 'cinematic camera angle' thing.  Oh, and it has online co-op play.  So I'm buying that.

GOOD GRIEF

LOL.  AI FTW.  You win the thread.

As far as the news goes... it's a non issue for me, but definitely can see how it'd suck for some.

Fortunately (or rather, unfortunately), the only person who lives with me has no interest at all in playing NHL online slywink.

Same here.  I'm on a half-hearted EA boycott anyway over the MS->EA privacy data thing.

Exactly. I love the 2k series no matter how much I already kick ass at them. They just seems more 2kish. Instead of EA's 90ish type "we don't know what online mode is." slogan.
