While I realize you're working on the review and everything else, I am curious what you think about difficulty so far, and if you've ever played the original Dungeon Master or the Eye of the Beholder games.
For some reason I never did play the original Dungeon Master or Eye of Beholder series. I have played a couple of Wizardry games, Kings Field, and Etrian Odyssey 1-3 though. So I enjoy Dungeon Crawlers. I'm not into the hand drawn mapping though, I'm not that hardcore. As for the difficulty, I'll talk about it in the review, but the game is no cake walk and you can definately see a differance when you level up.

A couple of reviews have been posted, both highly praising the game, especially its puzzles - GameBanshee and an Elder Geek video review.

Someone is going to have to help me with the puzzles though. Now days I am too lazy to spend hours/days stuck on a puzzle. I'll give them 30 minutes and then I am coming here and asking for the solution.

my review is up I really liked the game. 88 is the score, but if you love dungeon crawlers it's more like a 95.

Nice review, one question though. You mention 3 difficulty levels. Are they "Easy, Normal, Hard" or "Normal, Hard, Insane"? I like dungeon crawler games, but tend to get easily frustrated if they are crazy-ass hard (looking at you, Etrian Odyssey).

Yeah it's ,normal, hard. Normal settings aren't as hard as Etrian Odyssey. But it's still challenging. Somehow they managed to balance this game almost perfectly. I still have my doubts about their claim that only 4 guys worked on this title. It's polished, bug free as far as I can tell, and deep.

I've heard there are 13 levels. I'm still on level 9. If you want to solve every puzzle and find all the secrets it could easily take you over 20 hours would be my guess. It's funny because my save game says I've spent 11 hours, but Steam says I've spent 16 hours. I know I've reloaded a lot, so my guess is I spent about 5 hours of puzzle solving only to reload to my last save when I finally figured the puzzle out.

Lol, you're welcome. I had to go out of my normal review writing mode to do that. So you should feel special. Morgul- There are 15 enemies in the game. The way they behave and attack is all unique though. I honestly didn't have a problem with the enemy variety.

A bit concerned about the puzzles. Some are reflex based I understand. And I hate it when i can't advance because I can't get by some stupid puzzle. I understand they all at least have some clue. I just hope they aren't too hard.

I also could've sworn I read a dev post on their boards saying that their Normal is what most console games call Hard nowadays. So it won't be a pushover.

I wouldn't really call them reflex based. Some of them involve floors that drop on timers. So you have to move across those tile sections before the floor drops. This is a grid based game, so you don't need lightening reflexes to solve those types of puzzles, you really just need to memorize the pattern and then keep moving.

If it is not on by 8 eastern I am going to post a shit fit post here, decrying something, cursing, bitching, crying, etc.

I have Legend of Grimrock PreOrder in my Steam list. I see no option to download the actual game. GODDAMNIT!!!!
Once again I'm reminded why I'm not a Steam fan. I just wanted to support the company, so I bought from them directly.

The Steam version isn't available yet, but you can download the standalone version from the link you got when you bought the game.
