Does the new DLC require Rock Band 3?
Anything Pro Mode for guitar would. All DLC from this point forward requires Rock Band 3. They are not issuing a patch for RB1 and 2 to make new DLC work in those two games.

I guess I just assumed that since everything always worked in the past, it would continue to work. I did confirm what you said is true by going to the Rock Band 2 part of the Marketplace and you don't see anything after Stone Temple Pilots and Jimmy Eat World.

I think I'll be in for Blue Monday, though I think part of it is just wanting more keyboard songs. I haven't even exported my RB2 collection yet, and I'm at something like 70/226 songs have keyboard tracks. 70 will take awhile to get through (esp as I'm working through Pro Keys - even as I loved regular keys) but the ratio keeps messing me up in the head...
PS Subdivisions was fun on Pro Keys... even if I'm only on Easy.

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?207993-DLC-Week-of-11-9-Bee-Gees-6-Pack-B.B.-King-and-Procol-Harum! Hey gang,
Not only are three epic artists joining RB for the first time next week, but they've got Pro mode covered in spades! There are epic harmonies for The Bee Gees, keys galore for A Whiter Shade of Pale (give it a listen, I bet you'll recognize it) and you couldn't ask for a better Pro guitar teacher than B.B. King. Enjoy!
Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 system (Nov. 16):
Bee Gees – “Jive Talkin’” Bee Gees – “Night Fever” Bee Gees – “Stayin’ Alive” X Bee Gees – “Nights on Broadway” Bee Gees – “Tragedy” Bee Gees – “You Should Be Dancing” B.B. King – “The Thrill Is Gone” X Procol Harum – “A Whiter Shade of Pale”
(All tracks are original master recordings)
(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation 3 system Nov. 17)
These tracks will be available for purchase as individual tracks, as well as “The Bee Gees Pack 01” on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.
Price:
$1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points) per song
$2.00 USD (200 Wii Points™) per song
$0.99 USD (100 Wii Points/80 Microsoft Points), £0.59 UK, €0.75 EU per song for eligible Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade
$9.99, £4.99 UK, €7.99 EU (800 Microsoft Points, 1,000 Wii Points) for The Bee Gees Pack 01
** Dates for Rock Band game tracks are tentative and subject to change. ** A whiter shade of pale? Hell yes!!! Sounds boring on everything but keys and vocals though.

Just played through all the Bon Jovi, plus "Blue Monday" and "Burning Down the House" on Pro Keys. There's really no losers in that whole batch, and it's great to expand the Pro Keys selection by that much in one shot.
I think for now, I'm probably in on any DLC with Pro Keys except for the non-free Doors songs - I'm just not a big fan.

Jealous Guy and How Do You Sleep? are probably the most famous songs (outside of Imagine itself) on that album.

I was belting out a little Piano Man and Stayin Alive last night after consuming a few Christmas Ales. That's one of my favorite things about this game. Just turn on no-fail and it turns into a great karaoke machine even for those of us who can't sing a lick.

Makes the game much more fun when you know that the killer solo in <insert song here> won't cause the music to come to a crashing halt.
