2K Games confirms release date for hotly anticipated PC and Xbox 360 RPG Elder Scrolls IV
14:54 We spied a few rumours creeping around the internet earlier today suggesting RPG Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was due to whip out its UK and European broadsword on March 24, which prompted us to put a quick call in to Oblivion's Euro handler 2K Games for confirmation.
It turns out it's all true, a spokesperson for the company giving a big thumbs up to the date for both PC and Xbox 360 versions of the hotly anticipated sequel. So it's March 24 - unless something disastrous happens. Like a giant kebab striking the Earth and returning us to the Ice Age
(it's all over a bunch of other European websites as well)

No, not really. I didn't read anywhere him saying that it wasn't coming out on that day. You know, it sounds a LOT like the statements they made after Take-Two said the game was delayed and they kept saying "officially we are still shooting for Holiday 2005" nonsense. They are just not wanting to "officially" say it is coming out then, cause like Pete said they want to be 99.9% sure it will be out then....and now they are only 99.3% sure. I can 100% guarantee you though that this is the date they are shooting for now.

Well I think it is fair to say that they will not give us a date unless they are sure they can make it, so any actual dates given out to this point should be suspect-but we will all know soon, which will be sexay.

I'm resigned to have it when I have it - you know - the day it comes out, first thing in the morning. Then, like with my 360, I will drive, oh-so-carefully home, will be sure to be wearing ice cleats if it's icy out, will have two or three housekeys on me, will have bought a portable generator for that day... did I miss anything? Maybe some beef jerky, although food is not a necessity.

I'm going to be sure to block off a few days of vacation at work for this game, whenever they freaking give us a 100% final date that it will be out. Then I am going to kiss my wife and kids and tell them,"See ya in a week!" and then retreat to my computer room and not emerge except for food (optional) and bathroom breaks (not so optional...). What about sleep you ask? Sleep is for the weak. I'll have plenty of time to sleep when I am dead.....which might be as soon as my wife finds out about my grand plan for Oblivion!

And, Hetz - I'm really disappointed in you... here I thought I had a kindred Oblivion spirit - but, a week? As in one?

More good news today on the official forums, from one of the devs there... No news means we are VERY busy. Seriously, I can call an immediate halt to testing and tweaking so that we can drop everything and provide you with more screenshots, or, I can let work work continue so that in a VERY short time, you can take your own screenshots. Oh and he capitalized VERY, not me!
