Yup the only thing that I thought would make the perfect game great, is finally out. A multiplayer mod. At the moment it has some limitations but it's able to play with 2 people. He is working on uping that number to 8 in the near future.

Behold the wonder!

I didn't bother looking through the forums to see if this has been answered but I wonder how this mod would handle quests. Mainly the 2 players trying to both complete the same one.

What can MultiTES4 actually do?

The current version (being only an alpha) is pretty limited in it's capabilities. It supports only 2 people running around Cyrodiil. The other players in the game are represented as NPCs to each individual on their computer. The NPC will move and travel to match the players that are connected to the server.

What can't MultiTES4 do?

At the moment, the following haven't been implemented: time/day/year synchronisation, quest sharing, deathmatch, cell/world synchronisation, err pretty much everything else you can think of. Console commands aren't blocked, either is fast travel. Animations aren't shared, neither is inventories or attributes. I wasn't kidding when I said it was the basics.

Still as a first step, I think it's grand.

I can't believe no one is excited about this. It's fantastic news, unless everyone already knew and I was last to hear about it.

Eh.  If I wanted to play a multiplayer RPG I'd play World of Warcraft.

But WoW rpg compared to Oblivion rpg well as it is just my opinion having played both, I'd say WoW is rpg lite in comparision. Though I grant you WoW does multiplayer very well. (For the record have a level 55 Human Paladin & 20 Orc Warrior in WoW)

I wonder how they plan to handle the level scaling of the mobs.  What if you have a lvl20 and a lvl10?

Very impressive.  Someone did the very same thing for Morrowind actually.  I don't think it was the same guy, but they didn't get very far.  I hope this guy gets farther.  Have to admit that Oblivion deathmatch could be pretty cool smile
