looks like it is Resident Evil 6 and it is out November 20th 2012 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3,and rumours say its a cross between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5..which is probably not the best way to describe a game to say its a cross between two of the earlier games in the series

and Capcom not liking to be out done by Konami announcing half a dozen Silent Hill titles out in March there is also word of a Resident Evil 5 Alternate Edition bundled with the HD remakes of Code Veronica and Resident Evil 4 that is happening in Japan on March 15th for Playstation 3,no word if it will come to us westerners or whether a 360 version will happen

Looking at the trailer, I don't think it will be like 4.  That being said, I liked both 4 and 5 and that trailer for 6 made want it right now.

I will only be in for this if single player is not still forced Co-Op with an A.I partner,ruined Resident Evil 5 for me because Sheva was dumb and would just run up to the enemy and get killed meaning game over for me,if they are going to have Co-Op(which they are,see below),i hope it's separate

maybe,this Resident Evil 5 alternate edition will do something about that,but i highly doubt it

The trailer makes it look like other Resident Evil games...but they turned the dial to 11!!!!!

Which in the past would perk my interest but not so much any more. Desiring more creativity and atmosphere over intensity and bigger explosions.

so,remember in the GTA5 thread where it was rumoured that GTA5 was due out in October and i said it will be a push with Assassins Creed 3 and Bioshock Infinite?,well add Resident Evil 6 to that now...Resi 6 has been pushed forward

I'm not quite sure where I read it. Up until today, I thought it was in this thread, but that turns out not to be the case. Perhaps I read/saw it on GameTrailers or in one of the articles posted about the game when the trailer was released.

Another piece of information that is alluded to in the article linked to above, but which was more clearly stated wherever I have my sources from, is that each campaign is going to feel quite different. Leon's campaign will be closer to the RE4 style in both mood and gameplay, while Chris' campaign will be much more focused on action. It's not quite clear what the third campaign's focus will be, but from the article above it might sound like it's even more action-based and over the top than Chris' campaign.

- The C-Virus will be the new ultimate “bio-weapon” in this title.

- Zombies will now wield axes, pipes and guns. If properly disarmed, these can be used against them.

- Zombies can now dash, jump and climb.

- Players can move and shoot, run into cover and dive onto the ground and fire while on their backs.

- All new Mercenaries Mode is available Day 1 for everybody, no DLC stipulations.

I don't think we're going to see the standard zombies in this game. I get the impression that the virus here is a combination between the ones we've seen before. This means that there's likely to be elements of Las Plagas in it, keeping the infected at least partway intelligent.

But literally saw the screenshot of a zombie in full, clean, combat gear in a pose that wouldn't look out of place in Call of Duty or Counter-Strike, except for the zombie face.

I can deal with the change, but I don't think they've left themselves anywhere to go with this.

I just entered the code,very surprised that you don't actually download the demo,as its another 108kb key thing,i knew i would be playing it from the DD disc,but still thought i would be downloading it...so that means that the 7.9gb install of DD includes the RE6 demo

oh,and the menu has not changed yet,so i guess its still early for the demo

the demo is now up,and i got this step to step guide from TXB....it shows why i only downloaded that key thing this morning,and that the demo IS NOT on the disc

1-Enter the code for the Resident Evil 6 demo found on the back of the Dragon's Dogma instruction manual.
2-Download the demo redemption token from the marketplace.
3-Start up Dragon's Dogma, and download the new title update.
4-There will be a new option at the main menu that will let you start the download for the demo.
5-When the download is finished, you launch the demo from the standard game's library.

I think that Apostrophe is not supposed to be there on that last bolded part,and should be 'standard games library',as in where all your demos usually go

Okay i played the demo last night

there are 3 parts,and you get a choice between 2 players in each part

First part is with Leon* and Helena,Second part is Chris* and Piers,third part is Jake* and Sherry (*that is who i chose,not sure if easier for other characters or whether you get different cutscenes)

First part was probably the best me thinks,Resi 4/Resi 5 gameplay,the start was a bit annoying because they don't let you run anywhere so it was very slow going,and i was searching the options thinking i had 'walk everywhere' enabled

Second part was 'Gears of Duty:Resident Evil',and you know there will be online multiplayer for that part,close encounters were annoying because Chris's head was in the way,didn't feel like Resident Evil one bit

Third Part i pretty much didn't like mainly because it wasn't so great at explaining what to do so i died easily,and got bored after the 3rd death and didn't finish that part of the demo(you go back to the title screen when you die and have to replay),it brought back the Nemesis(or at least a distant cousin of the Nemesis),it had different types of running away,towards the screen or across the screen..quite annoying really



I know this is only a demo,but it has pretty much had the most screen tear i have seen in a game

I did like how there were 3 distinct stories though,but i am not entirely convinced i even want this game,at least on launch anyway

I really enjoyed the demo a lot.  I like the variety quite a bit.  The first had the best atmosphere (and a kick ass start to the story, IMO), though the walking was frustrating, as you say.

I died in the second one fairly far in (and for a stupid reason: I was figuring out how to heal when a flying dude came outta nowhere), so I didn't get to the end there, but the run and gun change up was fun.

I died literally five seconds after the third one started as Jake and decided to try again as Sherri.  The cutscene was the same.  Made it to what I think was the final showdown (don't waste those exploding barrels in the last room) and had near deaths about half a dozen times before finally buying it.  I'm not even sure if I was doing any damage to the big bad.

Compared to RE5, this really felt appropriately creepy and exciting at the same time.  If they can polish certain aspects up before October, it could be a really fantastic game.
