No Coop in Stalker?

Just saw this quote in a recent article about Stalker:

It's not only of the time constraints, but rather due to some technical problems that we don't implement the co-op mode. The main problem appears with the life simulation system and the free-playing game world divided into some sub zones.

Anyone else tired of games saying they will have coop and pulling the plug at the last minute? :x

Been sick of the lack of coop since the early 90's when many cool games had coop and I got used to it..best feature ever in a mp game.

I'll still get the game, but its a sad thing indeed. Hopefully they can add it in a patch or expansion.

Wasn't this known a LONG time back?  I can distinctly remember on the Stalker forums (and On GG for that matter) people complaining about this.  

I guess they had more important issues in this game, like iron sights and which side of the gun bullets were ejecting out.  (Seriously, some of the geeks on the Stalker forum need to get a life.)

I think it was mentioned, but this is the first time I've seen it said without any room for doubt.  I haven't been watching it too close though, so this might be old news.

The problem is they have gone back and forth on this.  Initally it was co-op definitely then maybe then no then yes but after release with a patch now its just no.

Yup, the publisher announced yesterday I think a May 05 release date.

Delayed?  Does that mean Halflife 2 fans who had to put up with Halflife: Forever jokes now get to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R.F.O.R.E.V.E.R. jokes?
