Just curious, but have you ever put Halo: Reach in your Xbox before? I would think they wouldn't bother sending the disc to those who have owned it or rented it in the past. |

Just curious, but have you ever put Halo: Reach in your Xbox before? I would think they wouldn't bother sending the disc to those who have owned it or rented it in the past. the theory is that the discs being sent out will be using the new 'disc format' they are talking about, so they would indeed want to send everyone a disc. |

In essence, they are testing two major features and want to test out both major variations. Half were updated via Live, half via disc. Both will be testing the second feature of this new format. Can't wait to see what this is all about. There hasn't been any information yet other than deployment related.

just swung by home and found my disc sitting in my doorway. the whole 'this will disable any 360 not authorized to use it' blurb makes me kinda wary about putting this in my 360, what if they screwed up on their end?  |

Just got my disc delivered. By the way, it says it will disable the 360 until this update comes out publicly, so it wouldn't be a permanent thing.

rumors of other possible items for testing are coming out. I think they're closer to the mark when they say it's probably that Hulu Plus and Avatar Kinect aren't part of it, but it's be a cool surprise.

i got my disc today...looks just like the one in those pictures. while it sounds like trying to sneak into the beta with someone else's disc will get you booted off Live for a while, i have a feeling that the disc will function perfectly fine for anyone once the official update is released to the public. right now i think it's just a matter of them identifying unauthorized consoles running the new software and cutting off those people, but that shouldn't be an issue in the future. as someone who has already owned Reach since release, i'm hoping that i'll eventually be able to pass this trial copy on to a friend...

I popped it in yesterday and it didn't install anything, though that might be because I was in the group that gets the update over the Internet. I guess there are some people who only get the update through the disc. At any rate, the disc ran fine and it didn't knock me off XBox Live. |

Well my Halo Reach disc arrived today, Saturday, May 7th. It looks like it fell off a shelf and was sitting in some water or something. It was FedEx overnight on April 11th. Disc works fine and everything. Very strange indeed.
