I just hope we're not getting the same slide-all-over-the-place material that the blu ray cases use.  Those things are really hard to stack.

The surface of a disk case is not a deal-breaker for me. Since we now can trade them in, I'd rather have a smaller case that fits in a jacket pocket so I can NOT have to carry it out and have people judge my taste in gaming at the local mall.

TL;DR? Smaller case = No Jacket Pocket Upgrade required. slywink

You go to the mall? Also why not just wear your flasher jacket, the pockets in that are probably big enough?

Naw, I keep my junk in my flasher coat.

The EB Games I go to is in a mall. I know the staff there - so it's kinda nice.

The good news is that it works. You hold your hand flat to begin, and then clench your first to pump the throttle, mimicking the motion of working the handle on an actual jet ski. So thatís pretty neat, and it shows the Xbox Oneís ability to pick out much finer motion than the first-generation Kinect.

Turning is handled by moving your hands as if youíre riding a bike. Move one hand forward and the other back, and you turn in one direction. Reverse the motion and you turn in the other. I found myself leaning my body in the turns, but it was hard to tell if that motion was helping, or if it was just something my brain thought made sense.

do I get to go faster if I go 'VROOM' louder and louder? slywink

Yeah, I think making those first Kinect Sports trials free at launch was a good idea and will go some way towards at least getting people to try out the new Kinect.

Cloud Streaming backwards compatibility is problematic There interested in seeing if Sony can figure it out.   The problem isn't the streaming it's our internet connection

But they can do it with the infinite power of the cloud! Right? Right?

;P

Seriously though, the concept has already been done and proven that it can work, and they're right, the internet connection is the problem. Honestly I think Sony's promising too much by even mentioning they are exploring BC through streaming.

If there's one game I want to buy a XB1 for, it's Dead Rising 3, one of the few titles that looks truly next gen. But more importantly, they seem to have found a good balance between fun and their intended vision, putting the mostly annoying time limits behind nightmare difficulty. Time limits would have been fine in other more refined games, but damn if their weird systems didn't just make those time limits super frustrating in the first game.

That UI demo was amazing. I really liked the auto-tracking the Kinect did through Skype. That's the kind of stuff people who bitch about the Kinect aren't taking into account. All they're thinking is games, games, games, and not how it enables all this neat voice, motion, and facial recognition in the UI and apps.

Engadget video makes it sound like pretty much no DVR integration at all, so you are going to have to keep the TV remote handy.

I'm really happy that the Xbone previews are going so well. I've seen a massive reduction in overall internet hate towards Xbone this week. Even the resolutiongate issues are starting to lose steam.

If you're looking for an Xbone champion, take a look at the stuff Ben Kuchera has been saying on twitter and on PA Report.  He's been excited about both consoles and active in discounting how much he thinks the Xbone negatives are going to actually matter.

The games media on the whole has been dismissive of the resolution differences, even though months ago they'd been making a big deal out of a mere 80p difference between PS3 and 360 games.  Cinemablend did an article or two on it. There's been a pretty huge backlash against games media, and unfortunately for Adam Sessler he's been made the focus for a fair bit of it.

I'm mostly getting the Xbox One for the TV integration.  Mostly.

DVR control would be awesome but even without it, I'm looking forward to not having to switch HDMI channels on the TV between TV and Blu-Ray and gaming.  Hopefully I can pass the Apple TV through too?  Does anyone know?

I haven't had time to watch the videos, may I ask what is meant by "no DVR"?  Does this mean the Xbone itself will not be recording shows or does it mean it won't let me use any of the functionality of my DVR cable box?

If it's the latter, that's going to kill the usefulness of this for me by a huge amount.

It has no DVR functionality for TV nor can it control your DVR.  You can use a DVR through it, but you will need to use all your old remotes etc, even if it's the DVR built into your cable box.
