Capcom is teasing us with the possibility.  Maybe this will be Street Fighter 4: the Champion Hyper Kinetic Disco Hero Special Edition.

or maybe it will just be some DLC.

nude skins for Chun Lui would be nice  icon_twisted

Well, the URL says "newwarrior", so I guess it's DLC with new characters. Personally I'm hoping for an expansion that revisits the balance between the fighters. The balance is good, but there's definitely room for improvement, such as improving Vega and giving Sagat some drawbacks. Oh, and I want it to punch anyone who chooses Ken in the face.

apparently...and this is the word on the street(PS3 forums)..its Super Street Fighter 4..with 10 new characters..new game, not DLC

remember how many versions of SF2 there was...wonder if this is the start

someone put up these pics on the PS3 forums(the site that originally had them JV247.COM took the pictures down, but someone saved them and put them up on the PS3 forums),i didn't play SF4 so not sure what the difference is,unless its the characters

T.Hawk and Juli definitely aren't in SF4 as currently released.

It's Super Street Fighter IV, a full new release. 8 new characters, a rebalancing of the old ones, and a lower asking price than the original.

I'm glad I skipped SFIV then, this one I'll probably pick up just to have a fighting game to play when family comes over.

Of course, I could just wait a bit longer for Super Street Fighter 4 Turbo Alpha Remix

I'd be pissed if I'd recently gotten SFIV.  This pretty much explains the sudden drop to $20 for it recently.

It's still at least half a year until we get Super Street Fighter IV, so it's not like buying SFIV now would be a waste of money.

Dee Jay is also confirmed in addition to Juri and THawk.

Other rumor mill findings:
All existing characters rebalanced based on community input and in-house testing

A "special bonus" for people who have a SFIV vanilla disc

Isn't DLC because changes are "too expansive to be just tacked on"

Likewise, won't be compatible w/ SFIV vanilla

No arcade release (not a big deal in the US but a huge deal in Japan)

No arcade release is a good thing for most of us. The reason SF4 hasn't received any balance patches is because it would mean the game would be too different between the arcade and console versions, rendering skills learned in one useless in the other. Without an arcade version we're actually more likely to get good balance.

The EX bars build up with every attack you take and receive, as well as a few other things. When full you can pull off a Super move, and you can also use parts of the bar to pull off stronger EX-variations of regular special moves. It's not very complicated.

well,if you say so....need i tell you that i find pulling off a normal move in SF2 complicated to me?...i still 'whoo hoo' when i pull of a 'Shōryū-ken'(which i used to think in the early 90s Ryu said 'f**k You Ken',as i used to think those two were enemies...but then along came the movie...and put me right disgust)

Moves are easier to pull off in SF4 than they were in SF2. Even the least talented players I've seen try this game had no problems with regular moves after 15-30 minutes of basic practice.

More info:

No unlocking of characters. Hallelujah.
No more "In- de- structable" everywhere.
Almost certainly going to be new stages.
Also all but stated we can expect new moves added to some existing characters as they did for Super SFII.
And I'm afraid to get my hopes up, but they seem to be hinting at the much requested multiplayer lobbies or at least some kind of enhanced spectating ability.

lol I still haven't bought the 1st IV yet. I was holding out until I got a PS3 for the better controller, but it doesn't look like that'll be happening anytime soon. I've also been considering getting the PC version, since I have 2 PS2 dual-shocks connected to it. Unfortunately my PC only meets the minimum spec requirement. frown
For anyone here who has the 360 version; how well does it control with the analog stick?

Now I still need to make sure it's officially official that it's official, but...

There are going to be lobbies.

Also 8 new characters, probably two ultras to choose from per character, new stages, blah blah...

But there will be lobbies!  Sounds like they'll fit up to 8 players.

Sorry I can't link all the sources I'm reading this stuff from but it's a pain to do on the iPhone.

Game designer Shiozaki:

Every single online multiplayer mode will have blind character select, and they even removed the cursor movement so you can't count how many character portraits your opponent has moved over.

About bloody time! If they can make it so that 90% of the playerbase doesn't play the same character (read: Ken) no matter what, online play might actually be fun.

Here is a translation of the entire interview.

Another particularly cool mention is that ranked matches will track both an overall player score as well as a character by character score count.

The more I read the more it sounds like the devs actually somehow heard all of the complaints and requests and, hard as it is to believe, are addressing just about all of them.

Three new characters announced: Guy, Adon, and Cody.  Are they good choices?  I'm not familiar with the Alpha characters.

While I appreciate new fighters for the game, the 12-year old karate boy is going to annoy me in much the same way as Sakura. They're way too typical of poor anime and its clichés.

Awesome trailer! I loved the music it was such a throwback to old-school soundtracks... Made me want to play some SNES games.

So this new Street Fighter is going to have all the characters from SF4 as well right?

Er, he was designed to be a "don't sue me" Mike Tyson, hence the name "Mike Bison," or M Bison. They swapped the boss names around for the US versions to be even more lawsuit-protected.
