It is the E3 presentation, but it's running on the final dev kits with upgraded lighting effects, amongst a number of other things.

One thing you can use to compare the old video of that same trailer to this new one is the new one has stencil shadows being projected by the trees.

All of the upgrades are in the little details, but to my eye they combine to make the whole thing that much more immersive and impressive.

I was really impressed with this at E3.  As cool as the footage you can see here is, its even better on a high-def TV instead of some compressed Internet codec.

While I sometimes agree with the sentiment of your post-I did not say what I did simply because he disagreed-I did based on posting history and his vehemence for the XBox and especially for the upcoming 360. In principle though, I guess I should know better than to let it get to me at all.

Seriously, I got a big laugh out of that. I loved how they just sort of ho-hum mentioned that a few months later-along with the fact that it was a mix of pre-render and in-game. I mean, I know you are desperate to beat the 360, but at least show us the real deal.

Ok first of all that sucks. Second of all, where did you read it was delayed? I was still under the impression it was confirmed for launch?

Off my list completely now. I was shitting a stream of rainbow flavored skittles out of my ass during the first video. I thought we'd have a neat hud, squad combat, and some seriously bad ass battles with tanks and shit.

Well, it is a pretty good looking game, but not next gen by any stretch. At least not nearly enough for me to spend $4-500 on a new console.  This is definitely off my list of games to get day one.  Maybe when $19.99 unless they can do alot by Feb.  I am sorely disappointed in all the deception with the trailers and whatnot from previous shows.  The only other game I was considering day one was Call of Duty 2, but after the demo, I can play it just fine on my current pc, so, I am definitely getting that one for it.  Gotta love the mouse for shooting.

Gears of War, is still looking to be the game to beat in my opinion, in the looks department.  Unfortunately, it does not come out til next year either.  Not sure I am getting a 360 up front now.  May wait til after the first of the year.  By then should be no problem to grab one at any Walmart in town and plus can see by then what games have made the biggest splash.  In the mean time they keep making games every month for the current systems that I can enjoy.  

Yep, hype deflated.  Good, gives me more time to save nickels and dimes and be more comfortable buying a new system next year when money is not so tight with Christmas just around the corner.

Well because like Sony (and lets not kid ourselves, I love Sony but there shit was way worse than what MS did), MS likely signs off on everything showing at these things, and I am guessing they know whats actually representative of gameplay footage and whats not. Either way, its a goddamn shame, because I really want this game to turn out well. I really want next gen to be next gen.

I mean, give me a real reason to buy this damn thing in November Right now I am down to Perfect Dark Zero (which might not make it), Kameo (which I really am not even sure I want since I don't actually understand what kind of game it really is-I need to see it in motion), maybe Tiger Woods (if they fixed some of the terrible flaws from the regular versions) and maybe Madden (except all early impressions are pretty underwhelming). I'll be damned if my enthusiasm isn't collapsing.
