I've been doing a series on my site where I play through every NES game in alphabetical order and write mini-reviews of them. Here's what I have so far:

10 Yard Fight
1942
1943
3D World Runner

That's going to be over 700 games by the time I'm done. Wish me luck.

Nice one smile

Keep posting these, I always enjoy a good NES-review! Those bleeps and beeps always bring back memories of a christmas smelling of styrofoam because of all the NES-games...

This is a cool idea and I like your writing.  The only problem is that at your current pace this project is going to take 13+ years!

Thanks. I know it's going to take for-fricking-ever, but ah well. By the time my kid is in high school, I'll be finished. eek

From where you're at, I don't think I have any fond memories of anything between here and Baseball Simulator 1.000, which is one of my favorite games of all time.

I loved Baseball Simulator! Man, it's been a while since I played that. I guess I'll be able to... in about a year.  crybaby

Perhaps you should change your goal into reviewing a selection of NES-games? A couple of games for every letter in the alphabet will keep you busy as well smile

Nah, it's more fun going one-by-one through the alphabet. No one else is doing this, whereas everyone and their mother does retro reviews.

Have you considered tweaking it a bit to turn it into a Child's Play fundraiser?

A Boy and His Blob

And I'd rather get this off the ground first, THEN worry about any fundraising opportunities. Heck, I'm only two months into this!  icon_eek

Technically you're not in alphabetical order any more.  But keep going, Lee.  I hope you make it!

Ah, it should have been "Boy and His Blob, A". Ah well. That's how my Excel spreadsheet sorted them out.

Weird. I thought this was an overhead shooter using the Blaster Master engine (or by the same company). What am I thinking of?

I'm glad Ars let you change your post. They can be kinda sticklers about directing traffic sometimes.

Aside from the occasional chucklehead, as with most places, it's a decent community overall.

Sounds very different from the PC version I played.  I enjoyed the PC version quite a bit for the time.  Come to think of it, I'd still enjoy playing a new dragon flight simulator.

i read through the reviews, and then i remember that i rented most of those games as a kid.  what a horrible waste of money.  Especially Action 52.  should've had a class action suit against that company for creating that.

I remember being horribly disappointed with the Heroes game when I rented it. The books were great and the game not so much.
