I have a friend coming to town to visit for 4-5 days.  We're both gamers, so I thought it would be fun to have a good MP game for the 360.  Currently, all I have is Dead Rising and College Hoops 2K7.  What would be your top 2-3 recommended games to play with your friend?  Co-op would be good.  I don't have a great TV, so split-screen MP isn't the best.

Guitar Hero II.  $150 is the price of admission for two guitars and the game.  And it is worth every penny.  MP has been an endless source of entertainment for me and my friends, whether it be co-op, face-off, or pro-face-off, we can't seem to put it down.  And you'll want to keep playing long after your friend leaves.

That would be my top co-op pick, followed closely by Gears of War, and then closely behind that would be R6: Vegas.  But I think Guitar Hero II is my favorite co-op game of all-time.  Gears is great for co-op, especially since it was designed with co-op in mind, but when it comes to longevity, Guitar Hero wins hands-down.

Can't go wrong with Worms. Doesn't split the screen when doing multiplayer either.

How does the split screen work with GRAW 2 and Gears of War?  I have the original Guitar Hero and love it.  However, my friend doesn't like rhythm games... maybe because he has no rhythm... I don't know.  Wait..  if he doesn't like Guitar Hero, can I even call him my friend?  icon_eek

To me the best non-splitscreen coop game is Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Crackdown co-op is over Live only.  Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Lego Star Wars looks to be your best bet as they work full screen.  Any of the first/third person shooter games (Gears, GRAW) are going to go split screen.  Admittedly,  Gears is some awesome co-op even on poor split screen.  It works because there is very little interface clutter.  I've played it on an old 26" TV and it worked just fine.  Several of my favorite co-op sessions start off with... 'Okay, who's going to distract the Troika this time?'

I'd second GoW, RSV, GRAW2, Marvel Ult. Alliance and Worms.

Oh, Halo and Halo2 are also definately worth it (assuming you guys haven't played it). biggrin

It's either that, or Wii sports. slywink

Alrighty.  Maybe I'll pick up Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Gears of War.  A superhero simulator and a mass murder simulator.  Sounds like a fun weekend!

EDF is a blast but the co-op is split screen.

It is, but (as stated above) because the HUD/UI is so minimalist there is no problems playing it coop split-screen.
