Actually that's Darkstalkers 3 from the original Playstation. Here's a game from a developer that later went on to hit it pretty big...

Actraiser? Yes, I can personally confirm that this game is Actraiser. What a classic. You're up. And as far as that Darkstalkers pic goes... It could also be Night Warriors on the Sega Saturn (import) or some uber-combo game that had all the Night Warriors/Darkstalkers games on one disk for the Dreamcast (also import). No, I'm not a gaming geek. I also stand by my position that FF6/3 was the best of Square's titles (and, yes, I've played them all since then).

It looks like a NES era game set in the Civil War (or some time traveling game featuring that time period), but I haven't had any luck finding it. Can you give us just a little hint?

There was a PC game released in 1999 with a very similar title (1 small word difference), that made it extremely difficult for me to find a screenshot.
You are correct, it is the civil war era and the screen above is just one of the many different types of action scenes in the game.

Eco, they don't seem to allow their pics to be hot-linked.
But for those playing at home, just select the image url and paste it in your address bar. Hit enter then F5 to reload and it should appear.
All that and I still have no idea what in the world that game is!

still no clue. What system was it on? Based on the low end graphics and the resolution of the screenshot, I'm guessing NES. Maybe the Master System. *shrugs* I just dug through my listing of NES games and nothing popped to mind. I do think us gamers are stumped on this one.

So my brother didn't really own many games growing up, and he would try to play them when I wasn't around to piss me off. For the most part I didn't care, because most of his games didn't interest me... except for two of them - Contra (NES) and this one: I remember almost coming to blows begging him for just 5 minutes with this stupid game.

Well, you're dead on with the timeframe... what major US system(s) existed during that time period? And which one had a really crappy controller?

No wait! I found it. I suddenly thought, "Who really had the worst controller?" Intellivision, of course. And viola! Beauty and the Beast.
Imagic was a cool company. I remember going out of my way to pick up Riddle of the Sphinx for the 2600.

Jungle Hunt. And it's not the Atari 2600 version I use to play so long ago, either. Edit - and since I mentioned the Atari 2600, I'll bring you this landfill of a gem for the same console: Yeah, I know it's a bit too easy, but what the hell.

And it's not the Atari 2600 version I use to play so long ago, either. Nope. I mentioned Colecovision, so I thought I'd toss it into the mix. I remember buying the Colecovision because it could play 2600 games. I sold the Atari to a couple of scam artists with a fake check and was out the money I needed to buy the Colecovision. Fortunately, my dad felt guilty for not spotting the scam (he really handled the transaction) and got it for me anyway. Of course, I never got an Atari expansion deck (did one ever come out?), but by then who needed it. The Colecovision ruled! w00t indeed!

Colecovision's had those awesome controllers with the dial on it. I bought one simply because at the time it was the only way to get 'Donkey Kong' on your television, but I don't think I played the thing at all once I got my Intellivision. In fact, I'm not sure I even remember any of my other Coleco games besides DK... what was the best game that came out for that system?
