I think it's Street Fighter, personally. But, to get the game going - Mortal Kombat. Now for another easy one:

I'd have played AC more if it featured a healthy beheading option. And that'd be METROID: PRIME!

Did "Electric Boogaloo" ever have a game attached to it? 'Cause that's what it'd look like.

I'm drawing a complete blank there..... Based on the low resolution picture, and 256 (64?) colors, I'm guessing it's a very old PC title. And a sidescroller of some sort at that. However, even with my vast knowledge of PC/console titles, I have no clue what it is either.

Let's see...that graphic tile set can come from any of a half-dozen games made with the Gold Box D&D set they used so long ago... Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silver Blades, Pool of Radiance, one of the Dragonlance titles... Heck - I'm gonna use this link as my answer, as that covers about a dozen Gold Box titles, and call it right. So, I'll give you an image of the best 3D fighter ever made:

Hell yes, VF is the greatest fighting series of all-time. I fell in love with VF2, so I can't say that VF4:EO is the best ever, but it sure is greatness.
BTW, this was a brilliant idea for a thread.

Man, I would LOVE to see this confined to console titles, because there are just way more PC games out there to mine. Perhaps we can splinter off into seperate PC/Console threads? I see this one going PC-only as people try to one-up each other. Besides, I think there are some good console games to dig up.

*edit* so we stop hitting that page Well, unfortunately that page won't let you hotlink inline images like you're trying to do. Nor can I get the site to pull it up any other way. So...care to try again? One quick note - if you're trying to find an image from a relatively recent game, check out our database (link on the upper right of any page that isn't the forums) and search for it. Odds are we have a few screenshots there, and they all support linking.

That screenie looks so familiar...but I can't put my finger on it. Dangit! Shame on you - how can't you know what this game is? It's the classic Blast Corps on the N64. What a simple and outstanding title. Okay, let's continue my tradition of gaming greats with this screenshot:

Not only is it the Sega CD classic Night Trap, it also appears to be in French. I guess that would make it Piège de Nuit Here's a shot from one of my all-time favorite games -

Not only is it the Sega CD classic Night Trap, it also appears to be in French. I guess that would make it Piège de Nuit That's what happens when the random game I'm thinking of is SO old, no standard site has screenshots about it anymore. And the answer to your shot would be Soul Blazer on the SNES. What an awesome Action/RPG for the time. And, here, another great SNES RPG that I personally loved:

Duke!!! Best. Game. Ever.... and probably the oldest game I still have installed on my PC. Hail to the King, baby! Now if I could just get Soundblaster emulation working for the original.... Anybody remember the first time they saw the animation in this game? (bonus points if you remember it's predecessor too)
