Back during shareware days of 3DRealm, Epic, etc, there was this little space game (in episodes) where you fly a little ship around the galaxy (sounds like a lot of games, doesn't it?). It was a top-down game and I *think* the main character's name is Stone...

Please help me find it smile

A few more things I can remember:

1. Buy/sell/trade...
2. Upgrade ship
3. Quests/Missions
4. Combat is somewhat like Maelstrom
5. Getting to another "galaxy" or "sector" is going to another episode.

That was a great game. I knew exactly which game you meant even by your vague description.

Anyone remember a racing game with a similar top-down view that probably came out around the same time (maybe a bit later)? I think it may have been shareware. It seems very similar to a GBA game that just came out. You get to upgrade your car as you earn money from winning races. Yeah I know, this description sounds even more generic.

Are you talking about 3DRealms' Death Rally? Top down Racing, with machine guns. Either beat your opponents or beat 'em up until you were the only one left on the track. Upgradable vehicles and weapons, and a final race against Duke Nukem. I've yet to find a Top-Down racer that I enjoyed as much as I did that one.
