Awesome, I played it about 5 years ago when I had gametap and really enjoyed it. The PC version IMO was underated and I remember being surprised at how well it worked with a gamepad. At $6 I'm IN.

Seriously, does Atari honestly believe an 8 year old game is worth $20? Granted, on Steam they've got it for $30, so I guess it's a bargain...

GoG is now taking preorders for Resonance, a retro-style adventure game coming June 19 from the makers of the Blackwell games and Gemini Rue.  The regular price will be $9.99, but you can preorder the game for $8.99.

Quote
Resonance is an atmospheric sci-fi adventure in which four characters try to find a dead particle physicist’s hidden vault and prevent the new terrifying technology he’s discovered from getting into the hands of a dangerous organization...The classic point-and-click interface is accompanied by a unique long-term and short-term memory system, which allows to “collect” memories and use them to solve puzzles or start conversations and--in effect--rearrange the storyline.

new press conference next Wednesday.:

Quote
We know that he who does not collect in summer, will heat little in winter and because we care for our users, you can prepare yourselves for wonderful harvest after the CD Projekt RED Group Summer Conference next Wednesday at 5:00 PM GMT. It is true that one swallow does not make a summer, that is why first you will hear some earth-shattering news from our friends from CDP RED and around 40 minutes later (that’s around 5.40 GMT!), TheEnigmaticT will tell you about GOG.com’s upcoming plans and release a number of fantastic games live at the show. We know that the summer that yields lots of pumpkins and horseradish doesn't fill the larder, that is why you can expect some old, some classic, and some brand new releases that will definitely heat up the first days of June.

Neat. I never got to play Savage Empire. I do recall Martian Dreams was one of the first games that had a "hard drive" as a requirement. Unheard of back then when disc swapping was the norm.

Yep... I bought Savage Empire in a Wal-Mart bargain bin for $5 in the mid 90s... sold it on eBay for over $120 a few years later.

I admit that I'm surprised that there hasn't been more talk about Silent Storm.  Many people were interested in it at the time it came out but wouldn't buy it due to starforce.  It really deserved the buzz.  It was a great game.  Fortunately, starforce didn't cripple the system I was using at the time.  Now they can get it DRM free.  I guess people have forgotten about it.

I remember one game where we were trying to clear a house.  My team was stacked up by the door.  My team leader opened the door and a bad guy tried to throw a grenade at us.  He missed and bounced the grenade off the wall near the door.  He blew up everyone in the entry way and collapsed the floor and the ceiling so the enemies on the second floor ended up dead in the basement.  Actually, I think the grenade set off some munitions in the basement that caused most of the destruction.  Either way, it made clearing the house much easier.  I might have to play again soon.
