I'm still horrible with HDTV terminology...my non-HD Sony Wega would be 480i, right?  And that means that compared to the shot on the left, my TV would have the same resolution, but half the framerate?

Other way around. Half the resolution, same frame rate.

Yikes, can't afford HD yet... even if I am able to find a second system and make the max on Ebay (no, not the $2,000 one, I wasn't bright enough to think of a scheme like that!).

But look at the grass in the lower left corner on each picture...

But as good as Kameo is, it still can't compare to the mother of all launch titles, which needs no introduction:

As hard as it may be for some of you to believe, Oblivion has lived up to all the hype.  It's everything I hoped it would be, and more.  kathode, I don't know how you guys managed to get this game finished by launch, but thank you!

edit: this would be funnier if imageshack was working at the moment :P

That ... wow ... that's an in-game capture of PGR3?

Simply stunning.

This is gameplay footage

That's impossible. You're lying to me.

Heh, I wish I could have written something like that, but they just couldn't get it done. Knowing their track recond for missing dates, I guess it's not that much of a suprise...but it still sucks, since it was hyped as being a huge launch title game.

Oh well. All I've got to say is it better be damn near perfect when they do get it out now....

I know...it looks so insane it makes my pants tight. Those 'in-cockpit' clips are smoking hot! As an Autophile, PGR3 is what originally sold me on the 360.

Oh, and Hetz, your television makes me sick. It terrifies me. You're a hell of a gamer.

Man, I thought "liquid metal" Mario was badass in Super Mario 64.  That Kameo pic looks amazing.  I can't imagine it in motion.

PGR3.  I don't just want it, I need it!

I was going to play CoD2 on my underpowered 9800pro, but I think kicking back and playing it on the TV is sounding (and looking) better every time I see a screenshot.

Oh, God, the hype and the impressions are winning me over. I want one of these things. Very, very badly. I am impressed; I am obsessed.

And I tells ya, it may sound strange, but the moment that I am able to sit back and play CoD2 on my massive 50 inch widescreen HDTV, I will have made it in life. Irrelevant possessions? Maybe. Awesome possessions? Absolutely. A mean PC rig that could eat up Half-Life 2 used to be the old benchmark, but it has now been replaced by the new 'Box.

Edit: Hetz, is there any way that you can modify the Kameo comparison pic so that one screen is above the other, instead of having them side-by-side? It's killing my scrolling. Maybe it's just me though.

The pic is just shy of 2k pixels wide, it is killing everyone's scrolling. slywink

It was this moment that took the movie from being a little ho-hum to “holy shit, did that shark just eat a plane!?”

I appreciate those pics for a different reason.  I only have a Sony Wega standard, non HD set, and will most likely never be able to afford one and to be honest those non HD shots don't look much better than some of the shots I see on my current Xbox.   Seems graphically I won't be gaining much after all.   Other than being to actually just play the games for the gameplay itself, I could pass on this system I think.

Is Call of Duty 2 on the Xbox 360 the same game as Call of Duty 2 on the PC?

Well, I got my system today.  Playing this on a standard CRT Sony Wega, non widescreen, 32".  I have the inputs for HD cables (Red Green Blue, plus audio).  It looks absolutely amazing, way better than the original XBox games, can't believe what it would like like on a real HD set.  PGR3 looks just insane, Kameo is very vibrant and crisp, PDZ... jury is still out on it so far.

Amped 3 - ignore the cutscenes and it's a cool follow-up to 2. I don't miss Live play though, might mean more to others

Madden 06 - pretty, but still just a football game

PGR3 - *drool* Lovin' every minute of it.

NFS:MW and Kameo still to go for my round one purchases.
