Just filled my third virtual shelf - take a look!  Almost all of these are games that have been called classics and I never got around to playing.  Of course, I've barely played any of them yet (except Sacrifice) thanks to my severe gaming ADD, but since I'll be without a graphics card for a while I'm going to see if I can make a dent in them.  But where to begin?  I'm thinking The Guild, Haegemonia or Perimeter.

Don't forget that almost every game on the site is on sale right now - use the GT link if you're going to buy.  And Earth 2160 sucks, by the way.

Well..because of you my Steam collection is growing!  I just read your review of AI War Fleet Command, very nice write up - are you still playing it?  I'm also thinking of plunging into The Void smile

Heh!  Nah I'm not playing AI War right now, but it is a game I keep going back to.  It scratches the same itch that Sins of a Solar Empire does.  As for The Void, I hear it's $10 at the moment.  Like I said in the other thread, at that price you really should go for it if you have any interest at all.  It's so unique and unusual that you'll easily get $10-worth even if you don't like it. slywink

Good Old Games!

Classic games, revived and reworked to run on modern operating systems.  100% DRM free and often with additional bonus content (soundtracks, hi-res wallpapers etc).  Cheap as chips too, and even cheaper now that almost every game on the site is on sale for a couple of weeks.

GOG is the best thing to happen to gamers in years.

To be honest I haven't played the GOG version much; it's even harder than I remembered from the 16-bit days.  Interesting is definitely the word though.  It's a survival simulator, all in first-person with RPG trappings.  It's brutal though...so, so easy to die.  One of your most pressing and constant problems, for example, is getting enough clean water.  You begin with some sterilisation tablets but they'll soon run out, and where will you get water from anyway, dirty or otherwise?

Perhaps you're attacked by some wild animal whilst armed only with a knife.  Even if you survive the encounter, you're bleeding.  Or perhaps you've broken (or even lost) an arm.  Good luck not dying of gangrene!

Etc.  It's harsh but very rewarding when you get stuff right.  I was much better playing it as a kid than I am now!

I just started my GOG collection with Fallou 1 and 2.  The ordering and downloading process was straightforward and painless.

Huw - do you have some of the other free ones from GOG?  I noticed you have Lure of the Tempress...what about Beneath a Steel Sky?

see here: http://www.gog.com/en/search/sort/price/000

Hi Zero, sorry for the late reply, I've been away for Christmas.  I already have BASS from some other source; can't remember where right now but I think it's been available free for a long time.  Haven't even heard of Teen Agent though!  Have you played it?
