It would be called Arms Race. It struck me as I watched Weapons Race on tv today. Anyone remember an old game called Buzz Aldrin's Race into Space? It would be like that except instead of a space race it would be a cold war weapons race.

Hire scientist, build facilities, control the press. Start in the 1940s and work your way past the year 2000. Work out techs such as solid fuels vs liquids. Shrink those techs down or be stuck with vulnerable large rockets. Throw monies into ICBMs,Boomer subs, or other delivery systems not yet thought of.

Imagine how better off you'd be to have spent money on miniaturization research than a larger warhead. Having a 100 ton ICBM with a 3MT nuke tip than a 200 ton with 1.5MT nuke and all the larger launch systems you'd need for.

Id like to play this game. Anyone brave enough in this day is sequel'itis to even try something like this now day?

That sounds like how I play Civ.  An economic victory is for pussies.

that's what I was going to say.  Isn't Civ pretty much an arms race simulator?

Well if you strip out all the city building and stuff...  personally, I think this has promise.  It could carve out the stuff in Civ I didn't really care too much about.

but in Defcon you already have nukes- he's talking about starting with stones, moving on to sticks and eventually graduating to Stellar Converters.
