Picture this: You're playing Bubble Bobble. On your HDTV. It looks glorious in all of its bubble-poppin' glory. You're Bub. Your buddy is playing as Bob online through the PSN or Xbox Live. This is the original, the best edition - it doesn't look like any of the "new" iterations that have come out. It's the arcade edition. If this happened... I could die a happy man. What are some games that, though unlikely, you would just go batshit-insane happy if released? (Note: the Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo release is close to Bubble Bobble, but not quite)

I would be happy with the original NES version of the game on the Wii VC. I know I tried the PSN version of the game and had problems with jumping on bubbles.

the original zork trilogy (& any other infocom game, for that matter), on the ds, with text on the top screen, & a scrollable, drawable map (like etrian odyssey's) & a typepad on the bottom...

Eternal Darkness II
Ultima X (nothing like VIII or IX - let Warren Spector make it)
Thief 4 (keep Warren Spector away from it)
A 2D Metroid for the DS
a new Bionic Commando
(I'll just go cry now.)

Ultima X (nothing like VIII or IX - let Warren Spector make it) or Ultima IX remade using the original story. At this point, I'm over the whole Guardian thing, which started great (albeit with horrible combat), but then produced the 2 worst games of the series. I just want a new hero playing a new adventure in Britannia that feels and plays like Ultima. Of course, it's all moot since I doubt EA will ever do anything with it aside from possibly making a UO sequel.

That game more than any other is going to compell me to buy a 360. Well, that and Mass Effect.

Tecmo Superbowl -- the same exact gameplay with all the kookiness -- with updated graphics, online play, and a career mode.

An HDTV mounted face up like a table, four racing wheels mounted around the edge, and an updated version of that old top-down Demolition Derby arcade game with the oil slicks and wrenches, connected over Live to other groups of four people playing at their own HDTV tables.

Starflight was awesome, but Privateer was better. And oddly enough, both have been 'redone' to run just a bit better on modern PCs. At least, I think Starflight has been redone... Maybe I'm thinking of Star Control...
