It's on the main page, but I thought I'd go ahead and create a thread for us to speculate in. My question at this point is: What did Microsoft really buy? Lionhead has so far only put games out on the PC and Xbox, right? So was their motivation to keep Lionhead's games exclusive to their platforms even though traditionally they already have been? Fable 2 on 360 would be hot, I have to admit.

The motivation is this : MS has the capitol to invest in a lucrative gaming company which has :

A) existing fan base
B) more press than any one game company SHOULD have
C) Intellectual properties to titles with sequels
D) The guts to try and reinvent genres (admittedly they didn't do so well with Fable; but the B&W series is amazing).

I just hope that MS can put a leash on the PR part of Lionhead, and maybe get them to take smaller bites. We don't need tree simulators.

Now, I'd like to see MS drop 3 bux to buy PlanetMoon Studios and get some Giants Citizen Kabuto II going.

::sigh:: Yeah, and EA puts out quality products. I enjoyed fable; it wasn't the greatest RPG ever though. I enjoyed B&W ans B&W2. I was looking forward to BC; hopefully they'll get back on that game.
